I have an LG 37 inch LCD. The remote control

I have an LG 37 inch LCD. The remote control stopped working. I thought the problem was the remote - I cleaned it, replaced the batteries, and all suggested remedies in the owners manual to no avail. So, I was told by the LG parts supplier that the infrared sensors on the remote do burn out. So, I bought a new remote for $50. But, it is still not working. Could the sensor on the TV itself be burned out? Can it be fixed? Thanks, John

Most of the time it is the Main Board in the TV that the sensor plugs into. They have had many issues with this Board causing this problem. To be sure, you will need to call a professional.
Hope this helps,

Remote control stopped working 37le 2r

You need to check whether the batteries are running out of power first.
If you replace brand new batteries and still does not work, then you need to replace a brand new remote from your nearby TV dealer.

VW37L 37 in. LCD HDTV input button wont work

Have you find out if the problem is with your remote control? For instance, you are able to control your TV using a Universal remote control. My 32" Vizio TV had a similar problem, initially thought it was related to my remote control but in fact the TV didn't respond either to an universal remote control of my SAT receiver that I eventually use to just turn on and off the TV. I've found out that the problem was with a little board on the TV located at the left down corner viewed from the front side of the TV and that receives the signal from the remote control. I found the board on ebay for about $5, replace it and the TV responded again to both original and universal remotes.

Remote control sound button wont stop when increasing volume, and input button wont move left or right, just keeps moving faster and faster

The remote might have problems, tries used the manual tv buttons on the sides of the tv,see if the problems is not accuring. If it is the remote control only, the remote CPU chip control everythings,it not repairable most of the time.Try website like Remotes.com to buy a an original remote for the replacement.

Need vizio code for Samsung remote!!

I have a 37 inch vizio and had the same problem. After a little web research, I came across a suggestion that the LG codes might work. I tried it and found that the code 19 worked. You might try that. If 19 doesn't work for you, one of the other LG codes might (they are 06, 21, 22, 23 or 78).

37 inch LG LCD 720p

If everything else on the remote works, most likely the PWR function on the remote is not working.

This may be a problem with the conductive rubber membrane under the button, or the matracy circuit is not reading the function due to any number of problems.

You can call the manufacture parts rep to see if it is possible to have parts for the remote. Most of the time, they are not worth to service, and parts are not sold to support remote control service. You will most likely have to order a new remote from the manufacture rep.

I suggest to NOT buy a universal remote. They rarely can do more than the most basic functions. Many times universal remotes have different issues with different models of sets.
