I have a Bruno SRE 2700 chairlift and the batteries are not charging.

The power light on the charger goes off and when I switch the chair off it comes back on within a minute. I was told that this is probably the computer board and not the charger. Any suggestions on a fix or where to get a computer board for this?

On a hunch, check out the condition of your batteries. Bad ones will usually cause a charger to behave erratically.

tip

Charging your power chair or scooter the correct way can make them last

Whenever you need to charge your power chair or scooter get into the habit of charging overnight. The battery level indicator lights will tell you if your chair or scooter needs charging. Whenever the lights are down into the yellow and especially if they are in the red. If you have the off-board charger, plug the charger into the charger port in the front of your joystick and then plug the charger into the wall socket or turn the on/off switch on and let it charge overnight. When you get up in the morning the charger should have a red light(power) and a green light illuminated (indicating fully charged) Always turn the charger off or unplug it from the wall socket before you unplug it from the chair or scooter. Never have the power on to the charger when you plug or unplug it from your chair or scooter. Whenever you get new batteries always give your batteries a full charge before use and then if you use the chair daily charge it every night. If you do not use your chair or scooter daily charge it at least once a week. Never leave the charger plugged in and on for more than 24 hours. Your batteries should last you 3-4 years if you charge them correctly.

Bruno SDE 3000 chairlift. What do 4 beeps mean (short beeps, I think). None of the manuals describe 4 beeps!

Hi Flaggy. I know it's been almost 5 years but did you ever get this fixed? I have the same issue with a Bruno 3000. It will go up or down a very short distance stop and beep 4 times. Hope you have an answer for me. Thinking it may be a bad switch or relay. Thanks.

What could cause a Bruno battery charger to stop working

1. No red light? Fuse replacement may be required. Follow instructions for a self-test.
2. Does the yellow light come on when the chair is parked against the charging contacts? Bad connection between wire and battery or over discharged battery.

Charger not working

When the red light is on it is to indicate that the charger is getting power from the wall outlet. If there is a second light that normally comes on Green when charging pay close attention to it when you first plug the charger in. See if it blinks even once then turns off. If it does that means the charger is not seeing any battery voltage at the plug that goes into the chair. If the green light does not blink at all then it usually means the charger is defective. Also most wheelchair battery chargers will not charge the batteries if the chair is to dead to even turn on.

I have aenigma wheel chair with a shark contoller when you switch it on all lights come on then only one left hand light flashes red thanks Stuart

Stuart iy\ts indicating low battery voltage charge the batteries and see if it goes away if it doesn't then the batteries need replacing or your charge is not working correctly If after charging overnite when you get up in the morning the charger should have a green light on and the battery level should be full. If after just a bit it goes to the red flashing light then your batteries are bad and need replacing. If the chair is less than 6 months old then the batteries are under warranty and your provider(where you got your chair) must replace them at no cost Hope this helps

The chair won't power on and the batteries won't charge. I know the charger works because I have tried it on another chair. When I plug the charger into the chair the light stays green and nothing...

After you changed the batteries, did the power chair sit unused for several weeks? It sounds more like a battery or fuse issue than a charger issue. If there are blinking lights when you try to turn the power chair on (not while attached to the charger), or it comes on then goes back off by itself quickly, there may be something else going on.
1- The green light on the charger is telling you that the batteries are not accepting any more power, either they are fully charged or they have oxidized/gone solid from sitting without being put on the charger for too long.
2-The scrolling lights on the controller when the charger is plugged in just confirms that the chair is connected to the charger, so it sounds like everything is connected properly and working. The horn will work fine when it is attached to the charger as it is getting power from the wall outlet.
3- If it was a fuse issue, the lights would not come on at all when the charger is NOT attached, even after the battery has been fully charged, which is what it sounds like is going on. The fuses can blow if you operate the chair on a slick surface or one of the drive tires spin out. The batteries will be fully charged but because the circuit is not complete, the chair will not power on.

I recommend checking the fuses and changing them if necessary. You are in luck because this is a relatively easy and inexpensive fix as they are standard automotive fuses found at any auto parts store or even Walmart for around $2 each (you need 2). The fuses are located inside the gray battery covers under the seat, attached to the leads connected to the battery cables. The straps holding the covers on the batteries are tight, you may want to use a flat head screwdriver to help release the clips. While you are down there, inspect the tread on the tires, if it is worn or slick it may need to be replaced for safety.
I hope this information is helpful to you- good luck!

My Hoveround MPV5 batteries will not charge, do you think it is a battery problem or a charger problem?

If you plug the charger into the wall, turn on the power switch and the light comes on, the charger should be working properly. Here is a way to test it-
Attach the charger that came with the power chair to the power chair controller firmly and turn the power chair on, while the charger is running. What should happen:the lights on the controller will scroll back and forth. If this does NOT happen and you can confirm the charger is turned on, the charger handle is fully seated inside the controller receptacle and the wall outlet has power, then the charger may have a problem and needs to be replaced.

If the charger is OK, then there may be a problem with the batteries. Here are some sypmtoms:
1-You connect the charger but the light on the charger never goes red, it just stays green.
2-You connect the charger but the light goes from red to green VERY fast.
3-The charger light goes from red to green but when you disconnect the charger and press the power button on the controller, you only have one flashing red light, or the batteries drain within just a few minutes of use.
4-The power chair has been stored or sitting idle for several months.
5- The power chair has been connected to the charger 24-7 for several months.
Any of the above examples indicates that the batteries are oxidized or damaged and will most likely need to be replaced. The MPV5 takes two, U1 12 volt 33 amp batteries which can be purchased at any battery warehouse store like Interstate Batteries or Batteries Plus.
Good luck!
