You can do it but that bass cannon will not power the sub well at all. They put out maybe 40 watts RMS. best to find a cheep receiver and do it that way a lot less hassle. better sound. If you dont understand give me a shout.

SOURCE: What is this ? On the back of Power Acoustik 500w subwoofer

Sub-woofers work on a low hertz as per audio. You have a built-in amp that has a crossover that separates frequencies under 100 Hz. Typical Hertz range is between 20-60. Since you have a built-in amp the black rectangle is a heat sink which helps to dissipate heat away from the internal components and also seconds as a cover to keep debris and other foreign objects from getting to the amp and burning it out.

Hope this helps.

I have a power acoustik subwoofer, how do I know if the amp at the back of the round tube works the12" speaker wrks 500w voice coil 2, 89db low Q Driver. know it's for car's but I use it with tv spk

the shown photo is a bit confusing too me , clearly this is an automotive speaker , but in the photo there is clearly a home power cord shown , is this power cord connected anywhere on this speaker ? as if it is , id be afraid that amp has received home power and not car power , as the two are not the same and have tremendous differences and would be quite damaging to this amp possibly unrepairable damage

LT-980/2 Car Audio Amplifier: Looking to see if I can hardwire a Power Acoustik ...

you want to use a car amplfier indoors in the house

yeah that can be done very easily
just wire it like you would inside a car but you need to purchase a 12v DC adapter
i would go for one with at least 3A output (the bigger the better it depends on how much u wanna spend) from personal expericance 1.5A works but when it gets loud the amp stops and restarts

How do i wire two 15 inch subs to 2 ohms

Hello familia_gome,

Those MOFO-15's have dual 1ω voice coils. So the only way you can get 2 of them to present a 2ω load is to use 1 voice coil on each one with the two of them wired in series. Using both voice coils, you can get a 1/4ω load by wiring the voice coils in parallel and then wiring the subs themselves in parallel. You'll get a 1ω load with the voice coils in series and then parallel the subs. Or you'll get a 4ω load with both the voice coils and the subs in series.

Here's a link to Power Acoustik's PDF for the MOFO's. I recommend that you check out the wiring diagrams on page 3.

Hope this helps.
