There is no way to limit the signal of the wireless connection outside of your own premise. The only possible way to prevent others from accessing your wireless network is to set a Password on your router/gateway configuration and to make the wireless name hidden or to not broadcasting mode. Your wireless name will be invisible plus all users will be asked about the password that only you knows.
You can set all this configuration by accessing the router's/gateway's GUI (Graphical user interface). You may need to contact the manufacturer of your device to know the username and password for accessing it or you may refer to your User's Manual.
Should you have any other questions just please leave a comment.
well you have to mention you router type first then it will be easy to help
any way in any router if you forget you password in a router the only methoed you have is to reset it which will eventually reset the configuration also
after reseting router will have the default username and password set by the manufacture (this will be locate in the router manual)
before resetting you must make sure you can configure it again ok
just look behind the router for a small hole named reset while the router is on insert a pin in to the hole and prees and hold the button for 10 seconds (thime will depend on you router type 10s is a default value)
once you release the button you should see all light starting to light again
no you shold reffer to the manual to go the initial configuration page
defalt username/password might be
admin/admin
or admin/password
oradmin/blank password
try it only if you know configuration settings
please rate solution ......bighelp
I am not familiar with your particular make and model. Normally, you can configure such a router with no password. Many people will say you need a password for security and I will not disagree. However, I think a password is at your option. If there is a password on your device now and you forgot it, I'd try :"Admin". You may wish to check the documentation that came with your device or check with the manufacturer.
Is your issue with the router's administrative password to used to configure the router?
Please confirm your router's manufacturer and model number.
IF not go to Wireless Configuration
If the router needs to be reset (because of an unknown password) do you know the proper settings to
reconfigure the router? If not or even if unsure please provide your
Internet Service Provider's name so we can get accurate instructions before proceeding any further on this password issue.
Wireless Configuration
Is your issue with the passphrase/password for a wireless adapter to
access a secured wireless network using either WEP or WAP encryption?
Do you have another wireless computer that works? -- you may be able to find the passphrase in the configuration of that machine's wireless adapter avoiding the need to have the administrators password for the router for the time being.
