The button itself may not be making contact with the circuit board under it

SOURCE: Lost remote want to get to input channels using side buttons on TV

Try using the manual buttons and keep pressing channel down until you see the lowest station you receive, then go slowly.
Maybe Insignia put the inputs into the channel search automatically.

SOURCE: cannot turn tv off with power button or remote , must unplugpower

It could be a stuck button on the set. check to make sure they all feel the same.. If one don't feel right try to free it .. If a button is stuck it wont let any of the others work or the remote.

SOURCE: My Insignia LCD 42" only

It sounds like it has main board problem, leave it unplug for about an hour to let it reset itself to see if it will work again. It can also be unstable power supply problem.

Change input on Hitachi LCD TV model LE65K6R9 without remote?

I'd unplug/disconnect the Roku and after 30 seconds try the control button on the back. If you can change the input do so, then plug the Roku back in. Until you use the input button on the back to change input to Roku, you should be able to use the other buttons on the back to control the TV. If this does not work, unplug both the TV and the Roku. Wait maybe a minute, then plug the TV back in and follow the above instructions. Here are other alternatives: Using physical buttons: You can find the physical buttons on the left or right back side of the Hitachi TV. Using these keys, you can change the input, adjust the volume, or turn on Hitachi TV without a remote. Press the Input button located at the back or side of the Hitachi TV. The list of connected sources will appear on the TV screen12.

Using external devices: Connect a wireless keyboard or mouse to your Hitachi TV and change the input1.

Buy a universal remote: You can buy a universal remote to control your Hitachi TV and change the source.

My remote has stopped working and I can't change the tv from coposite 1 back to tv. how can ido this without the remote and what can I do to get the remote working again?

There may be an input button on your tv itself on one side or the other. If you press that and then use the up and down arrows which are usually the channel buttons and volume buttons, you can move the highlight up and down to choose the input you want. You may also be able to get there through a menu button if input is not an option. Let me know what buttons you have.

The only button that works is the remote power button. None of the buttons on the side of the tv work. The volume bar is always visible. The picture works when I'm watching a dvd, but the volume bar is...

Hi check to see if the volume button on the side is pushed in or sticking as this will cause all the buttons to not work as the micro thinks you are trying to turn up the button and thinks this button is depressed.

Original remote lost. have universal remote. cannot program TV

On the right hand side of this television there are panel buttons. It appears that your son in law knocked the tv out of the correct input. Press the input button in order to cycle through the 5 inputs. Typically pressing the input button on the side panel of a television and pressing it again and again and again will make it change inputs. Universally the buttons on the tv panel function as follows: Channel up moves the cursor up. Channel down moves the cursor down. Volume + moves the cursor right. Volume - moves the cursor left.
Hope this helps

Samsung 40 hd tv the vol will not come down from 100 percent . I try to turn the vol down and it will not turn down. what can I do. tks mike

I presume that the volume will not turn down from either the remote control or the volume buttons on the side of the tv. If the volume down button works on the side of the tv then the remote control is suspect to be faulty. If neither remote or tv volume buttons work then check whether the channel buttons work on the tv (not remote). If none of these work then check the input connection from the buttons /infra red reciver to the main pcb. This is a push on cable connector. As a point, also check that the volume up button on the tv is not stuck in, and feels the same as the other buttons when pressed.

I would suggest you try to find a universal remote that has an "input" or "source" button and program that one to your tv. By pressing the "source" or "input" button, it will change the input to the tv. I hope this helps! -Der Strom

Can't change channels

I had exactly the same problem. I finally found the power button on the underside of the TV. It is well hidden and to find it, you need to run your fingers underneath the panel. Turn it off for a minute or so and turn it back on and then turn on the switch on the panel on the upper right side where the channel and volume buttons are. It works.

Mintex 37 inch wide screen. remote is working however cannot change channel, input source or volum. only turns tv off. The buttone on tv doesnot work connot change input source or volume

Check if the remote is in TV position, that is, because most of the remote controllers have the feature that you can program them for use with another devices. Make shure that one button that says "TV" in pressed and released once before you try to change any function on the TV.
