I agree with Gittos on the bearing assessment. This considered part of the drive system. If it's less than 5 years old, your next move is to contact Sears and claim a warranty repair on the tranny (it has a 5 year warranty on it). If it's more than 5? Well, honestly it wouldn't be worth the repair. You'd have spent more money on all the parts required than what the unit is worth (worth= what it would sell for in working condition on the market). Hope it's less than 5!

SOURCE: My wash spins SO loudly

Had the same problem with my Neptune and is was not the bearing (there's only one). I replaced my washer with a new tub and bearing which was factory pressed in the tub (couldn't just by the bearing) after all this I found that the spinner support (which has three arms holding the tub) on the back of the tub had one of the three bolts broke and was throwing the washer out of balance and creating a loud knocking sound when it would spin. Replaced the stainless bolt and everything was fine. The repair man told me what he thought was wrong with my machine so I did the repair myself and found out after the fact that I wouldn't have had to spend all the money on the new parts if I would have just investigated the problem further.

SOURCE: Neptune washer load noise.

I do know there is a set of bearings on the drum drive shaft. There is an inner and an outer. Some places mention that these bearings are no longer available. However, I found on ebay a gentlemen who sells these bearing and the seals in a kit for about $80.00. It comes with instructions on how to repair and will save a lot of money. I have done this once already to the same washer, now I am doing it again. If you search on ebay maytag neptune parts you will find his listing for a bearing kit. He also describes the jet engine noise.

SOURCE: Maytag Neptune Series MAH5500BW loud noise during spin cycle.

very loud in spin cycle can mean a bad rear bearing, not something a homeowner would want to try to replace, parts would exceed 6-7 hundered dollars. you may have some extended part warr through the manufacture. still probly gonna be a 5 hundred when the labor is added in

I have a samsung VRT steam washer, front load. When in the spin cycle, it makes a very loud noise..like the drum is going to come flying out at any time..scary..any suggestions ?

I have a Maytag Neptune front load washer. I had a similar problem, had to replace the bearings for the drum. It sounded like a jet engine spooling up until I replaced the bearings. I watched a video on how to replace them on Youtube.

My neptune MAH3000AWA is very loud when spinning

It is probably your transmission going out. I had a similar problem with a Maytag a few years ago and the transmission went out after about 6months of the jet engine sound starting. I would suggest having a technician look at it or just get a new washer.

Top loading Maytag washer sounds like it is in the wrong gear. It is loud but still works.

Sorry to tell you this if it is making a loud noise especially in spin like a jet engine firing up its the rear main bearing that the tub shaft goes thru to connect the belt to the motor. Its definitely not worth fixing your looking at $450 to $800 to fix because of part plus labor charges so I would go buy a good quality used one or a new one for that price sorry for the troubles.

During spin cycle washer is making loud noise

If it is making a sound like a loud rumbling sound similar to a jet plane taking off, it probally due to the seal has failed causing water to leak into the bearings. The bearings begin to rust, and no longer round and the noise gets progressively louder. It can be rather expensive to fix. Get a few estimates before deciding whether it is worth fixing.

Makes loud noise in spin cycle

The problem is that the seals are leaking and allowing water to attack the tub bearings.
You need new tub seals and bearings.....not as difficult as it may seem.
see u tube video on replacing maytag seals and bearings

Loud noises during spin cycles

Hello, If the noise is a squealing or grinding sound, you are likely looking at a bad seal and bearing.
If the noise is a knocking sound, it's more likely a suspension or out of balance condition.
Thanks

Loud noise

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary

Hope it may help you;
