if the password comes up straight away on the laptop and its on a black screen, its a bios password and will be expensive to remove, only cheap method to try is if the laptop has a internal lithium battery, remove it for a minute then put it back in. if its a windows password let me know there alot easier to remove.
1) Go to Control Panel on the start menu.
2) Double click on User Accounts.
3) Then under the Pick a Task heading select Change the way users log on or off.
4) Tick the box next to Use the Welcome screen.
5) Then click apply. Password or not when your computer starts up it will take you to the welcome screen where the user can select which account they want to log into.
Hi thanks for asking, when you start the computer and it ask you for password click on the arrow it will give you the password hint simply give the hint to your mate and that should help. You ca also start the computer and when it ask you pr password if its windows xp you can press Crtl+Alt+Delete all together twice and type administrator in the space and press enter, this should give you access.

You can clear the user name and password option from your laptop..you need to open control panel then click on user name and password then use the change password option then dont enter any password.. ok then restart system will not ask you any password....
Try TOSHIBA as the password. It works on most of their laptops. I'm not sure about desktops but it's worth a shot! :) Also try holding ESC while it's booting before the password prompt comes up. That sometimes works too. Good luck!
