Samsung Galaxy Avant: MHL:
Hello. Yes, MHL is available for all Galaxy family devices. You just need to obtain one that is compatible with your phone.
here's the Official one:
MHL 2 0 HDTV Smart Adapter
Note: You will need your charging cable and wall charging adapter. Plug power into the MHL and plug MHL into micro USB port on Galaxy Avant.
This MHL adapter can be used by the listed newer phones directly without a power adapter to show pictures on to your TV screen. It is not recommended to use without plugging in the power cable (that is plugged into the wall charger) if you are going to use the MHL for streaming video or for gaming, because those are power hungry and will deplete your battery within 2 hours or less. Connecting power charges the MHL as well as your device. Make sure your charging cable and wall charger are OEM, else they could just trickle charge your device instead of actually charging it. (some aftermarket chargers are 3V. Samsung's are 5V for the more power hungry Smartphones.)
You may need to turn airplane mode on
on some Galaxy Smartphones it is:
(my Note 4 on Android 5.1.1 is like this)
Settings>Connections>Airplane Mode
On your phone I believe it is:
(depends on the Android firmware version)
Settings>Under section: Wireless & Networks: Select More Settings>then check box for Flight Mode
*** Important ***
if you are trying to connect to the internet to stream to your TV, and Airplane/Flight mode turns off your WiFi, just turn it back on (airplane/flight mode will remain on) ~ some phones do this, some do not, this is carrier specific.. meaning the cellular provider requested the phone to auto do this for some reason
