And your question?
Seriously.
What's the question?
Damn well do it, and help somebody. What are you? Looking for a statue? Maybe a pat on the back?
Maybe your'e looking to charge for it, in which case you're in the wrong place. You should hang a shingle outside your door, and wait for the customers to come knocking, and I hope you have savings.
Some people just like to be helpful, because they know some things others don't. It doesn't make them superior. Just specialized. Just ask a mechanic to fix your computer ;)

Tomorrow I will be taking my vehicle (2002 Alero) in to have the trans. oil changed. Because the transmission on this car is "sealed" how would I beable to know if the fluild was actually...

best way to know is to remove the dipstick tube tonight and look at the color of the fluid-use a white paper towel and wipe it, and save it-tomorrow, do the same thing, using a different location on the same towel to wipe-if changed, the spot from tomorrow should be a bright red as opposed to todays, which will be a darker red (or even brown). You can also inspect the trans pan-it outside should be immaculate, since it was dropped and cleaned as part of the service. You can ask that they save the old filter for you to inspect, and even ask tomorrow if they cleaned the magnet in the trans pan-that is a basic thing that they should have done, and you should be able to judge what was done by their reactiion to this question. Continue to check the level (when fot) for the first few days, and put a piece of cardboard under it for a couple of days in case it leaks.

Is this free

Unless you ask for "Premium Expert Service", there is no fee I am aware of. However, I am pretty sure there is something YOU may qualify as an expert, too. So if you want to give something back for free advice you get here, how about answering some questions of folks in your area of expertise? :-)

My 2000 Nissan Sentra with automatic transmission won't downshift when I come to a stop. When I start to drive it is in third gear.

With all auto transmissions The easist solution is to change the filter and fluid, if that doesn't help the next step is to check the valve body this is the part that controls the shifting up and down, if your stuck in a gear it's most likely the valve body, now some valve bodies are controlled by electronics also if it is each gear has a fuse in one of the fuse boxes, check the fuses. The valve body is not user friendly it can be done in your garage, but you need high expertise, it's located under a cover of some sort, each hold down bolt has to be kept track of as to where it goes, there not interchangable, the valve body is not rebuildable by you. and after removal the entire area of work has to be kept nearly sterile. This is something delicate this really needs a professional. But if you go to a shop letting him know you have some expertise in this area you won't get taken for a new transmission, Hope this helps

I was watching tv and the screen went blank. It

You would have to try an INIT and see if it causes the tv to be operational again. It is something that you have to be walked through step by step by step and can erase the memory of the tv if done improperly. Call Sharp tomorrow morning at 9AM CST and someone can walk you through one. Call 800-237-5277 or if you have an aquos advantage model call 87-332-7867
