Have an issue with my cameras zoom function. When I take pictures my zoom works perfectly but when I switch to record mode the zoom will no longer work.

This has happened before but I must of touched something and it went back to normal. This issue has been going for two weeks. All my settings look normal.

Canon PowerShot G2 buttons don't work

You have a bad button board . This is a single board with a series of small button switches that control all these functions. Most repair shop will charge around 75.00 to fix.

Blurry video recording

Since the camcorder returns to the auto shutter setting and the auto exposure setting when it's switched into Night Capture mode, I would say that might be your problem.  Change your shutter and exposure settings. To do this, switch to Camera mode, turn the menu dial to the setting you wish to change then press enter.  You may have to play with the settings until you get the desired picture. Remember, faster shutter speeds for faster action (stop action), and longer exposure settings for darker situations. Let me know if you need more help.

The only functioning modes are the picture viewing & set up modes

Have Sony DSC-P73 with exact problem. Only turns on in SETUP mode and when switches to all other modes camera shuts off usually with lens extended. Have tried new batteries - new memory stick - new everything and nothing helped. I just took out the batteries and attached the AC ADAPTER and all works perfectly now so problem is with either batteries - battery compartment or battery connections. As long as you do not need a "PORTABLE" camera, using AC Adapter solves this problem :)

I bet you can't solve this.

We have a Canon A520 and it was having all the symptoms noted. Searched for a resolution on numerous sites including the Canon Support site. While on the Canon Support site, I found an FAQ on "How to RESET the A520". Turn camera on, find and hold MENU button for 5+ seconds until "Reset settings to default?" screen appears. Arrow over to OK and press the SET button. When we did this the battery low indicator showed, replaced batteries with standard alkaline batteries. Everything functions properly, with no additional problems for the past 5 days. I guess the camera just lost its mind and had to be defaulted and rebooted, hope this helps.

3000z Zoom in Movies

Lack of zoom during video recording is a "documented feature" of the 3000z. See page 3-2 in the User's Guide: "...you can't change the zoom setting once you start recording."
