KP-51ws500 color is not alligned

Not Lamp, it is problem of convergence output ICs failure. KP-51WS500 is rear projection tv that has 3 color tubes to make picture, this tv does not have Lamp as light source in DLP tv.
Replace convergence output ICs to fix the issue. Local tv repair shop will help you if you have no experience in electronics stuff fix.

Marilee, you will need to check on the service manual schematic of what types of voltages you have on the IC's now. Most of the time, there are whats called pico fuses that blow out when the convergence IC's blow out. They are located on the G board, and are yellow in color. They look like small resistors. Check them for continuity after you replace the IC's. By the way, did you use good replacement IC's for the convergence? There are all sorts of aftermarket types and factory rejects being sold out there via the web or from local electronic parts distributors. Make sure they are the original types. sony has a problem with that model the pix tubes short not going to be worth fixing

These sets have weak picture tubes, this may buy you some time. It is not worth changing the tubes in the set. The cost would be more then its worth. Try these adjustments until it completely dies. I have the same set.

see if the mirror in side is broke or cracked

have the color wheel checked for damage

convergence ic's replace all 3 be carefull make sure to reapply the thermal compound to the heat sinks after cleaning the old stuff off stk's can be had from global

you need a new convergence board

Your problem is a typical convergence problem that happens on almost every tube type projection TV set ever built. There are two Convergence amp IC's that need to be replaced. If you have no TV repair experience, play it safe and call in a pro to assist you in this. Good Luck

my set is a few days over 4 years old. same issue. called sony-- told that D-Board needs to be replaced. Board is no longer made. waiting on call back from local service center
