The hose suction on my Dyson Animal (DC41) is fine, but will not disengage when you put the hose back and want to use the floor sweeper.

Hi Stacy, it's Jack at Dyson.

This issue you've described with your DC41 sounds unusual, as the changeover valve will divert suction to the cleaner head automatically when you recline the machine into the vacuuming position. If it's not doing this, it's possible you have a blockage somewhere in the cleaner head, internal hose or changeover valve.

To check for this, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide: http://www.dyson.com/support/dc41/dc41-irspu/diagnosis-root-menu/performance-flo-area-check-dc41/flo-brushbarvid-dc41/redirect-to-performance-flo-base-dc41-checking-the-internal-hose/performance-flo-base-dc41-checking-the-internal-hose

Repair broken dyson DC08 contact head internal hose

Hi Vladimir, it's Jack at Dyson.

The DC08 Contact Head is manufactured and supplied to us as a complete assembly, and therefore we don't have the internal hose available to order separately. If the internal hose is damaged, it would be worth replacing the Contact Head to ensure effective pickup performance. You can order genuine spares directly from Dyson by visiting www.dyson.com

If you'd like further advice from our experts, please call the Dyson UK customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298. Calls are free from UK landlines, and we're available from 8am-8pm from Monday to Friday, and 8am-6pm on weekends.

Long and short tubing

Hi Sharon, it's Jack at Dyson.

To replace the internal hose (the short section of flexible hose underneath the cleaner head), please follow the steps shown in the video above. The internal hose has a push-fit connection at both ends - please make sure it's pushed firmly into place.

To replace the main hose at the rear of the machine, please take a look at our Support guide: http://www.dyson.com/support/dc28/dc28-animal/diagnosis-root-menu/dc28filterwashvid/wand-suction-dc28/wand-from-hose-dc28/hose-suction-dc28/redirect-to-check-the-hose-dc28/check-the-hose-dc28

If you remove the clear bin and cyclone pack from the machine as if you were about to empty it, you should see the hose release tab to disengage the hose from the machine.

I hope this helps, but if you need any further guidance please email [email protected], and one of our experts will be in touch as soon as possible.

Best wishes,

Jack

Tons of water on the floor might mean that an internal hose or hose clamp has failed. Once you have it apart you can assess and replace the hoses by taking the bad hose to the auto parts store and asking for an appropriate sized replacement.

Spot bot leaking when using manual hose

This is an old post but I thought it might help anyone having this problem now to post the solution.
The internal water pump feeds two water delivery hoses on the Bissell Spot Bot. One goes to the spout located in the center of the rotating brushes.
The other feeds the spout located on the underside of the brush at the end of the hose.
There is a water shut off valve that is actuated when you pull the plastic tube at the end of the hose out of the plastic tube it is fitted into during storage.
When you pull the end of the hose out of this plastic fitting a button inside is no longer depressed and a valve shuts of the water flow to the rotating brushes. If this valve is clogged with gunk it will not release when the hose end is pulled out and water will still come out of the rotating brushes even in manual mode.
This is a mechanical fault not an electronic fault.
To resolve the issue you can mix a solution of vinegar and hot water and fill the water tank with it.
Put the rotating brushes over the sink. Remove the hose and fit the scrub brush to the end.
Start the machine in manual mode. The sink will catch the water coming from the rotating brushes area.
Now point the hose end at the sink to catch the water and pull the water release trigger. While holding the trigger press and release the black button inside the tube that holds the hose end during storage. This moves the internal workings of the valve.
Do this till all the water is gone.
At some point during this procedure you will notice that when you release the black button the water will stop coming from the rotating brushes.
You problem is now solved.
If this does not work after two tanks of hot water and vinegar then the valve would need to be removed and soaked in a solution or replaced.
This is a much more complex procedure that requires disassembly.
Maybe a youtube video is in order.

If your lucky the procedure above will solve the problem.

Will not turn on, used the hose/switch from a new one, same thing

If the PCB is cooked, you will often see a burn on it somewhere, but it may be internal in the relay.
Double check the cord and rewind leads in and out for continuity. Rewinds will break internally at the end of the spool. If there is no power to the head itself, your problem lies either at the 3 contacts where the hose inserts in front of the bag chamber, or behind the motor, pointing again to the circuit board .
There is a small relay on the PCB of some Sears multi switched models. That would be suspect location # based on your decription. The parts are generally vavailable thu Sears , but if you can get their part # you can also try to search FSP parts online for a match.
IF the relay has a removable cap, you can inspect it and if burned , with a bit of browsing online often locate a replacement relay to solder onto the board
Sears sometimes re tags the part # internally but not always. Best of luck. Good effort on your part
