How can I replace bearings? - Hitachi CV-SH18 CYCLONIC HIGH POWER VACUUM CLEANER FOR 220 VOLTS

Unfortunately those machines do not have serviceable bearings. The entire motor needs replaced. However, I have saved noisy bearings by putting oil on them, specifically 3 in 1 Blue Label motor oil. A few drops spread on the top and bottom of the bearings and giving the motor a few backward and forwards turns by hand will help those bearings immensely.

1. Pull the brushes.
2. Check how the motor turns. You can tell if bearings need to be replaced.
3. Pull the motor and take out the rotor. Dress the commutator and get it clean. If you are lucky you can dress the commutator well enough with a hand held carborundum stone.
4. Bearing are cheap. Consider replacing the bearings just because it is easy to do now.
5. Reassemble and replace the motor.
6. Replace the brushes.

The bearings in the brush roll can be replaced if. It has the metal brush roll. Remove the cotter pin to remove end caps and remove the shaft. Remove the plastic bearing holder on the belt end or the metal bearing holder on. The other end.

I have a bad motor myself. The bearings make loud noises and the wife is on me to fix it. I can only replace the entire motor because the bearings are not available that I am aware of. The motor runs about $50, cheaper than having them fix it. Dyson does not have parts listed on their pages but you can Google the vacuum/parts and find them. Working on a Dyson is like working on an car. You have to take everything apart to get to what you need to replace. Good luck.

Probably either bearings in the roller brush, a damaged fan blade, or the bearings in the motor. Take the roller brush off completely, and run the VAC without it. If it's much more silent, then the problem is with the bearings in the roller brush. If it's still noisy, then look closely at the fan that produces the suction, if you can. If you see any damaged blades, then you'll have to replace it. If it seems fine, then it's most likely bearings in the main motor that will have to be replaced. The bearings and the fan blade are NOT expensive parts, but the labor at a shop to change the main bearings would be kinda pricey.

It would be cheaper to buy the bearings and replace them as this is causing your whining noise.
When you get the pump motor apart then you can take the bearings off the rotor and take them to the nearest bearing shop for replacments.
Replace your bearings and it will be good for a long time again.

Hi there SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here. Unfortunately this machine does not have bearings that you can oil. You can replace the bearings that are in each end of the brush roller by removing the brush, taking the end caps off and pulling out the bearing and putting new ones in (size 625 from memory). The bearing in the motor however is sealed and cannot be replaced. This model is designed to have a motor replaced if the bearing is failing. I dont know if this is terribly good news for you but it is accurate.

that is not so easy....is it motor bearings or is it the bearings on the rollerbrush...???

if you want to replace the motorbearings you have to disassemble the whole motor..need more answers ask me again....

usually you replace the rear bearing and the complete front bearing cover assy. the rear bearing will have to be pressed off and the new one pressed in, let me know how deep you are into the project so i know where to start.
