Brushes don't rotate during floor cleaning

Check that no strings or other debris is clogging the brush wheels. If it isnt that check that the belt isnt broken connecting the brush to the motor. If that is ok, most likely the motor is blown and not turning the belt.

The brush on my DC14 is not turning but the belt is in tact.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC14. If the brushbar isn't rotating, you might want to check that you have the brush control set to the 'Carpets' mode. You might find it helpful to refer to the user guide supplied with the cleaner. In case you don't have yours to hand, here's an online copy:

http://media.dyson.com/downloads/us/floorcare/manuals/dc14_opmanual_usa2007.pdf

Please note that the brushbar will never rotate when the cleaner is standing in the upright position.

If you've checked the brush control is correctly adjusted and the brushbar will not rotate when you recline the cleaner into the vacuuming position, please get in touch with us directly so one of our experts can provide further assistance. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Jack

Brush not turning

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the problem you're having with your DC14. Please note the brushbar never rotates when the cleaner is standing in the upright position, or if you've used the brush control to turn it off.

To check the brush control is set to the correct position, please refer to the user guide supplied with your cleaner. In case you don't have yours to hand, here is an online copy:

http://media.dyson.com/downloads/us/floorcare/manuals/dc14_opmanual_usa2007.pdf

If you have the cleaner reclined in the vacuuming position with the brush control set to 'ON', and the brushbar is still not rotating, please get in touch with us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting steps over the phone, and provide the assistance you need.

Kind regards,

Brushes have never worked on bissell proheat2X

The belt is most likely broken. Usually 2 or 4 screws on the bottom of machine to acess belt. check your owners manual how to change the belt

I HAVE A BISSELL 12AMPS PROHEAT2X RUG SHAMPOO, IT WON'T PUMP OUT WATER TO CLEAN ,THE BRUSHES WORK BUT NOT ANY LIQUID. ALSO CAN YOU GIVE ME A REPAIR SERVICE NEAR THE 34219 ZIP CODE

You have to stop leaving the cleaning solution the tank after you're done...unfortunately you may be outaluck...try putting a tiny amount of ammonia in the tank and keep pulling the solution "trigger"...maybe you'll get lucky...otherwise trash the vac :o( Sorry

I cleaned filter and the brushes are still not rotating.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. It probably is not the filter that will start the brushes turning again, it may be a few other things. There is a switch in the front that indicates brushes on and brushes off, and the switch could be broken, it could be that the brushes come in an assembly and the assm could be belt driven and you would have to replace the belt or the drive mechanism the turns the brushes is broken. These are just suggestions and you should check the schematic in your owner’s manual under trouble shooting. If you don’t have a owner’s manual, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
