Actually the support for Windows XP has been ended from Microsoft, and on the other side you are trying to install Earth, which is updated many times after Windows XP. That's why Windows XP could not install it.

Problem May be #1: Actually the support for Windows XP has been ended from Microsoft, and on the other side you are trying to install Earth, which is updated many times after Windows XP. That's why Windows XP could not install it.

Problem May be #2: Check your hardware properly. All capacitors and insulators. RAMs, Hard-Disk, bad sectors, etc.... These also cause any software lose its action.

Have you had Yahoo Messenger on the computer before? If so make sure it is completely uninstalled before trying to install it again.You may need to use the Windows installer cleanup utility to do it completely if it has already been uninstalled.
There are more recent versions of the Windows Installer:-

Windows installer error 1619.
From older Windows versions I know this is can be a problem with the access rights in the installer folder. If you have the hard disk space, consider copying the installer files to a hard disk location and run it from there.

Also make sure you use a user with admin rights to install.

Not sure if all this still holds true for Windows 7.

Unregister Windows Installer, and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:

1. On the "Start" menu, click "Run:.

2. In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.

3. On the "Start" menu, click "Run".

4. In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /regserver", and then press ENTER.

Then restart and start installaion again ..ok it will work

search there for windows xp sp3 and download it using vuze(you have to download it from the same site before downloading iso image of windows xp sp3)

Reinstallation problem
Same error here. Compaq Visual Fortran 6.5/6.6.
I think is a problem related to Windows XP SP3.

- Solution:
Re-install Windows XP SP3 (integrated).
Right after installation (no reboot) run the CVF installer. It will work.
Then do normall installation stuff.
If you have Windows XP SP2 you won't have any problem.
Hope it helps.

Couldn't find ANY solution with SP3 installed before CVF installation.
