Maybe a power supply or related issue but at 4 years of age the set has reached its life span----parts will be hard or impossible to find.

If you got four years I would retire it and recycle it and then replace it.

Fixed mine, myself! Black 3 inch vertical band (stripe) appeared after a cros country move on our PC-T50G10. Occasionally we would see white band with multicolored pixel width stripes. Took the risk of taking off the back to see if I could see anything. Found places on sides and bottoms where plastic like 2" flat cables could be seen. Guesstimated where the band was and found that I could flip down a black cover on one end of the cable. Tried to pull it, gently. Mistake. Realized it wouldn't one out like computer hard drive cables, so I took out the screws holding the plate on the other end (it's only an inch long). That allowed me remove the cable. Took it out, cleared away dust, put t back and closed the black over. It worked! Put the screws back in, back on and... we are happy (although I do have four extra screws!). Just be gentle.

I had the same problem and I bought a Main board and replaced it. It started working again. Hope it helps

Because there is a failure in some module which the power or main board detects and refuses to power on.

The blink is a series of short blinks which report the error code - count them, report it and you may learn more.

It is worth saying that most of the times error codes do not help too much.

Having the TV , testing the power outputs and experimenting with disconnecting boards usually helps better.

Of course there are exceptions to both rules.

the problem is the panel is going bad. usually not economical to repair. repair usually runs as much as a new one.

wish the news was better for you, the convergence chip or the color engine has faulted and burned the screen This will be an expensive repair unless it has extended warranty

My Hitachi TV Flat screen 42 EDT 4 1A has a one inch black line from the top to the bottom of the
screen on the left side. What or how do I fix it. I did blow it out with a air compressor as suggested by a local repairman.

Well sound as if a segment or Ic driver has failed on the panel. And a 42 inch replacment panel can run you $1250.00

I have the same problem and was told by a technician that I need to replace the light engine. Probably around $ 700.00.

I have a Ilo 42 inch Plasma TV and it just stop playing, the power light comes on but the screen don't light up at all
