Hi Ian Brunskill, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? I don't understand what you mean by "shears out" in your question. I have had a couple of D60's and have never had a problem with the battery or the little door.

The problem is with the body of the camera, where the battery flap catch locates in the body when closed. On two occasions the body material has broken away so that the battery cover flap cannot lock into place

Sounds like you may need a new Bottom Cover put on the camera,

Have a 1988 Acura Legend with a bad ignition switch...problem is how to get it apart to fix it. Can't get the bottom column cover off...any suggestions?

i think you meant Ignition switch.
really a 1988> no 1998?
the latter has air bags, and BOOM are very very dangerous.
yes, you are fiddling plastic covers. use a flash light.
covers, are you talking the steering column combo surround covers?
remove the screws , under under, do down, and look up, bingo?
i hope its a real 88,
i login to alldata.com
i look at lock removal.
7 steps, you are stuck at step 2
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the steering column lower cover. Disconnect the ignition switch wire connector from the dash fuse box.
  3. Insert the key and place on the 0 position.
  4. Remove the 2 screws and replace the base of the switch.

  1. To remove the lock, remove the steering wheel and the steering column covers.
  2. Center punch each of the shear bolts and drill their heads off with a 3/16 in. drill bit. Be careful not to damage the switch body when removing the shear head.
  3. Remove the shear bolts from the switch body.
end remove.

Changed battery in 02' candy and wont idle

you will need to take the negative cable back off and leave off while you are cleaning the throttle body.take the hose off going from air box to intake and take some carb or throttle body cleaner and spray on a rag and then open the flap on inside of throttle body and clean all of the build up out from around the flap.once you have it clean put the cable on and take it for a drive to let the computer relearn its value of the throttle position angle. i hope that this will help and let me know if i can help you any further........good luck let me know if you got it fixed cause this should take care of it it is a common problem.........

Where do you place batteries in a wireless mini mouse

I have seen a couple of ways to get at the batteries on a wireless mouse. One is to look at the bottom to find a standard battery cover complete with a little finger slot that allows the plate to be lifted off from the bottom surface of the mouse.

The other is a sliding latch at the back of the bottom surface of the mouse body that releases the battery flap which then lifts upward. The flap is the backside skin of the top of the mouse.

The cover of the battery compartment does not lock closed properly due to the fact that the front recess for the locking tab has snapped off, is it possible to replace the battery cover on this camera, the...

Hi Dear,

As described by you. Some part is snapped off. Is this part is a part of camera body or is it from the flap that opens and closes which holds the batteries.

If it is the flap, then it is possible to get it replaced. But if it is from the body, then also it is possible to get replaced the body, but in this case it will be an expensive business.

Please let us know if this suggestion was helpful in any respect.

We would love to serve you further if you require more information on it.

Have a nice day.

How do i open the unit up to change the battery?

A small #6 torx screw driver is needed. The GPS flap on the back has to be opened. The antenna board has to be disconnected where the ribbon wire, covered with black tape, snaps onto the board. A small blade can flip the cable lock up and the ribbon wire will easily detach. Now you can remove the plastic flap, by pulling back the spring loaded hinge. Be careful not to let the spring fly out! Once the flap is removed, two screws are exposed on the top of the main body, same #6 torx. Once removed, use a plastic pry tool to slowly move along the circumference of the body. Once all the plastic snaps are un-snapped, be very careful when opening the **** shell you've created. You should now see everything you want to mess with.

I have a Fuji FinePix S5000 and the battery door catches (on the body of the camera) have broken off. Replace complete body assy??? I am sure mine is not the only one. any help appreciated.

I had this problem also (see below).
0241d48.png

After getting poor results with the duct tape solution, I discovered another work-around. This should work whether it is chipped lugs on the door or on the body.

Firstly I used an old camera flash bracket that screws into the tripod socket, and this holds the battery door in place quite securely. However it was too long, so I cut and filed a piece of aluminium 25mm (1") wide by 2.5mm thick to the right length (around 100mm/4") and shape, and made a hole for the bracket screw.

End result is not exactly like new, but more functional than the duct tape and does not further damage the actual camera:
