Hard to say exactly what is wrong with the limited information you provided but...
It's fairly common for laptops to get stuck is "Sleep Mode" and exhibit this behavior.
If that's the problem, you can try the following...
Unplug the power adapter from the computer, remove the battery from the computer, then press the startup button for a few seconds. Without putting the battery back in, connect the power adapter and try starting the computer again. If this works, shutdown the computer, put the battery back in, and you should be back in operation.
Unplug the brewer. Turn it upside down. You may need to use a small screwdriver to remove small rubber pads that cover screws that hold the bottom cover to the brewer body. Remove those screws. Using a volt-ohm meter, check to see if you have power coming from the power cord to the brewer at the points on the circuit board. IF NOT, REPLACE THE POWER CORD ( cheap fix). If the power cord is working, when you take off the bottom cover and you will find a small circuit board that has very small switches that actuate the brewer. Take that circuit board off, and with a toothbrush and water/soap solution, gently clean the circuit board and then let it dry completely. CHECK the board to see if their are any burnt areas, or any deposits that are corroding connections, and check to see if all connections are unbroken. Fix anything with a small soldering iron that has separated. Let the circuit board dry in the sunlight, and then replace it and the wires connected to it. Try then to plug the cord in and turn the brewer on to see if the lights work then. IF NOT, you will have to replace the circuit board.
The problem is often that the machine develops a leak in the hose that is rightover the transformer...the water drips onto the transformer and kills that...then you have no power to run the machine.

I got the same problem yesterday. I just unplugged the power from the subwoofer, then plugged today. Now the lights stayed a little longer then yesterday, but goes out again a little later. So I just unplugged and wait ultil tomorrow then I'll try again.
Probably a PSU failure, although it could just be your power switch. Try shorting the power switch connections on the motherboard, if that doesn't work, replace the PSU with a standard ATX PSU. They're relatively cheap.
First try disconnecting ALL power to the laptop - not just at switching off at the wall but pull the plug and remove the battery as well. leave it for 30 seconds or so and put it all back and try again.
If no luck then press F8 on boot until the boot options screen appears and select 'Last Known Configuration'
try and plug in your charger and then put it on. it is obvious your battery is low. and if you left it on with the power plug on, try and replug it now if the light did not come on then there is possibility that your power pack is bad. then you have to change it. good luck
