I have just purchased an old Janome Memory Craft 10001 embroidery machine and need the drivers in order to be able to connect it to my pc via usb cable.

You can go the the Janome web site to find drivers for your computer. When you save designs to the memory card you must save them in a folder (emb, i think}.Put a blank card in the machine while the machine is off anf=d then turn the machine on,,,It will make the folder for you.

Good Luck

Janome memory craft 300e

You need a lettering program to create the letters the way you want. You do the lettering on your pc, save it and send it to the machine by your card.

Computer connection port?

According to this brochure, the machine uses a PC card. http://www.brubakerssewing.com/uploads/files/8600.pdf

You would need to purchase a reader/writer unit with a rewritable memory card in the format of the embroidery machine.

Allbrands.com has the best prices - with any merchant check before purchasing as software usually cannot be returned.

Smart media card and embroidery machine

Your machine needs to go into the shop.

Select a Singer dealer and have your purchase information in case this is something that is covered by your warranty.

I have a #1 machine

If you purchase a reader/writer unit with a rewritable memory card in the format for your machine, you will not need additional cards.

Copy the designs from the CDs to the hard drive or insert the CD as you need to access a certain design and then copy the selected designs to the memory card.

The card can only store a certain number of designs and then you reload when you want a different design.

You can get this unit from a sewing machine dealer, but they are less expensive on-line.

Always check with the vendor before purchasing to be sure the unit will work with your brand/model and machine embroidery format.

What other embroidery cards can I buy for my envision 9008?

You can download designs from the Internet and send them to the embroidery machine.

If this machine uses memory cards, you will need a reader/writer unit and a rewritable memory card in the format of the machine.

If the machine uses floppy discs, you need a PC that has a disc drive for floppies or you will need an external drive.

Check the Internet for vendors or check with the shop where you purchased the machine for the method of transfer needed.

I have purchased a Janome 9700 embroidery machine and it came with a disc of designs (jef format) . I have downloaded the designs on to the memory card and can view them via the computer but they do not...

Since you are able to view them from the ATA (Compact Flash) card on your computer and the designs are in *.jef format you should be able open them on your machine. Make sure you have selected to view designs from the ATA memory card and not the ones stored on the machine or from the External Card Reader box.
There is an additional program called Customizer that you can import designs, edit, and transfer them to your ATA card. Mine was part of my package deal when I purchased by 9700.

4D Extra and Reader/Writer

QUESTIONS:
is the reader writer a USB or parallel cord? (they have both.
If it's USB you need the 256K card otherwise the regular card, and yes it can work you just have to have the right card for your reader writer.

PC card adapter

I too have just purchased a new machine and had same problem.  You have to put the card in your sewing machine first to format it.  My machine is a Janome 10001 but think it is the same concept.  When I save a design from the internet to the card I have to drag the design into one of the Emb folders which will show up on your card after it is formatted.  Then after saving the design I can go back to the Emb folder that I saved it in and it will show up on the machine.  Hope this helps.
