How do i set the timer on a canon a560 digital camera

On the back of the camera where the( Func. Set )button is located, there is a (Clock symbol/icon) below it, press that and you should see a display on your camera screen giving you how many seconds delay you want before it takes a photo. Choose the amount of seconds you want and press (Func. Set), now press the shutter button and you should hear a beep count down.

How do I reset the photo/frame numbers?

I'm afraid your camera can't set the photo count to 1.
At least the user manual does not show any possible hint how it could be done.

I am not sure how to set the time interval in the nap mode. It starts at 2 hours, and I can't change it.

Ok, this is the way it works, and I keep my clock radio for this feature alone. It is a 2 hour "count down" timer. It is set in 15 minute intervals. Supposed you wanted to take a 1/2 hour nap. Press the button but don't let go. As you hold your finger down the timer will start at 2 hours (2.0) and it will then go to 1.45, etc. When you get to a 1/2 hour let go and it will start counting down. If, in the process, you make a mistake, press the blue button and don't let go. Hold it down until it erases the setting and removes the NAP text from the front display. Release button. Start holding down the button again. Once again, the display will go to two hours, continue to press button, it will start counting back in 15 minute increments. Again, when it gets to 1/2 hour, quickly let the button go. As the clock counts down, you cannot see how much time is left on the clock. Press the button, quickly let go again. It will display how much of the 1/2 is left. When the clock counts down to zero, either the alarm will sound or the radio will start playing depending on what you set the alarm to do. Press the off button, that's it... (0:

Remove the lens and fire off a few shots while looking inside. Does the mirror seem to work ok? Is the shutter actually opening revealing the sensor?

How do I set the timer?

To set the timer, you simply need have the camera in ready mode (as if you were going to take a picture normally), then on the back where you have the four directional pad buttons, with the camera facing you press the left button once and you should see a circle with the number 10 in it. If not, press again. This is the timer for 10 seconds. If your press the left button again, you will see a circle with a 2 in it. This is the 2-second timer.

Now choose which one you want, the 10 or 2-second timer. Once you have decided, press the shutter button fully and you will start to hear beeping. This is the count down sound. Now depending on if you have the flash setting to go off, once the beeping and the self-time indicator on the front of the camera stops flashing, your picture has been taken.

To take another timed photo, you must repeat the same steps again.

Hope that helps.
