If LED not coming on when you plug in red and pressing button blue then it's your power supply. you can order at shopjimmy.com or discount-merchant.com
Having browsed the user manual I wonder if you plugged in the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System while the Polaroid FLM-2632 tv was powered down via the optical cable .
Then powered up the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System first and then powered up the Polaroid FLM-2632 tv
Maybe the Polaroid FLM-2632 TV has to detect that the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System is connected and powered up when the Polaroid FLM-2632 powers up. To activate its digital audio out ????
The note part about only being available only under HDTV (cable/air) mode. Might be the cause of your hassle also ?

It can be the main board or the power supply,
look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague Please post back what you find
Either one of two problems, the main power supply has an issue or has gone bad. 'Not supplying the correct voltages to your processing/controlling board' or that you are having problems with your processing/controlling board. My guess is the main power supply board. A Good TV Service Shop would give you an idea of what the cost of repair should be. Call around. Blessing, A/V Media Tech Guy
I had the same problem with mine, and figured out how to repair the control box. If you would like to have me perform a service on your set go to www.mikecampagna.com/Polaroid
