Picture is to large for 27in

If model indicated here is correct either a problem in the Vertical circuit of the set or an adjustment.

Almost any shop can take the set into the service menu and adjust vertical size a bit to correct if not circuit problem.

32" LCD tv w/built in DVD mounted on wall. screen will not hold picture - looks like vertical or horizontal hold needs adjusting, but cannot figure out how to adjust. happens when using DVD or VGA...

Vertical and horizontal adjust went out with black and white TV pretty much.I remember those days too...what would kids nowadays do???lol.Anyhow, the fact that it clears up sometimes when you slap it should mean that the screen is fine.Something on the circuit board may need repair.Unfortunately,I have searched for diagrams for TV's online many times and only authorized shops have the access required.I just checked westinghouse, not even a way to sign in if I were a reapir shop. So,needless to say, a shop will have to check it out.Sorry That's all I can suggest and good luck!

How to adjust vertical size my hitachi c29-r30sp

You could go into the user menu and look around to see if it has an adjustment. If not you will have to access the service menu for your tv. There may be a setting to adjust vertical size there. If that still isn't possible you may have to open the tv and look for a pot or a switch that can control the vertical adjustment. It may be by the vertical output circuitry. This could also mean that you have a defective component in the vertical circuit or inadequate voltage to that circuit.

Image on screen cropped. can't find menu items to adjust screen size.

on the back side of set should have a control that says vertical size/ sweep. it is recessed into a small hole or has protruded knob, if so used a small flat tip common screwdriver for the adjustment. make sure you can see the control knob or slot clearly otherwise you could short out something!!!!!

Screen Size is Too Big

There should be a vertical height adjustment control potentiometer near the vertical output IC on the right side of the PC board near the front section of the TV that can be adjusted to shrink the picture vertically. Be careful not to short anything out or getting yourself shocked in the process if you decide to try to adjust it yourself. Good luck. This chassis has also been known to have bad solder connections in that area also, so don't man-handle the printed circuit board roughly.

TV picture has moved up

your pic. has shiffted vertically. very easy to fix. open the tv set, located the crt tube(end of the screen) there are four wires going down to the board that is compined in one socet. around that socet, you will find small knobs, look for vertical phase and you could adjust that pic. the adjusting should be done while the tv is on and has pic so be careful, you are dealing with a live electricity. good luck

JVC AV-28GT1SJF

you have to get into the tv to do the adjustment. take the cover off and then look for the CRT tube and follow the yoke cables that will lead you to the printed circuit. you should see some small tiny knobs there. something like vertical phase or horizantl Phase..you need the verital to adjust the vertical size of the pic..good luck
