How to fix my fan fail error on my Acer X1161P projector? I have tested the fans and it seems like if it is a system problem, when it starts cooling down after the error they both start spinning...

As said I get the fan fail error, but I think it might be a systematical problem, wondering if anyone has ever experienced it and how it might be fixed.

Fans have 3 wires, power (red), ground (black) and third is RPM. If the fans internal RPM sensor isn't providing the speed reading to the electronics it thinks the fan stopped initiating an error shutdown process. You could possibly try an outboarded fan with the same wiring and voltage to see if that makes any change but if replacing the fan with an OEM fan doesn't fix it, then you have a board issue or wiring failure if the fan doesn't plug directly into the board.

Make sure you check every fan in the unit.

Vivitar 3000af slide projector

While I am not sure of this feature on the Vivitar projectors, extensive testing has proven that running the cooling fan to accelerate cooling of a projection lamp will significantly shorten the lamp life. It is always recommended that (if possible) the projector system is cooled to room temperature without the fan running. Also, it is recommended not to move the projector until the lamp is completely cooled, as the lamp filament is extremely fragile when hot.

Acer aod257 freezes up after about 10 minutes. runs hot. Any ideas?

Overheating When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.

Tv shuts down after 20 mins or so need to unplug for a time to re start then will run again for a short time

projector tv works like a projector.
the superhot bulb needs cooling, and if the cooling fails, it shuts down.

so what you have is either the fan is not working, or the cooling system is not working.

have to fix it professionally.

Fan fail error. projector shall shut down automatically

If the Fan fails the temperature goes up and so the temperature is detected to be high to cut off the projector.
Please replace fan or correct the power to the fan.

Infocus screenplay 7200 fan failure with new lamp After powering on, red LED blinks 4 times which means fan failure of the fan that is part of the lamp module. Already returned initial new lamp and got...

Not sure if this helps with the 7200 bu had a 4805 with a failed fan issue. There are two fans inthe unit, one smaller one that cools the color (colour) wheel and the larger one that cools the lamp. This unit had a problem with the larger lamp fan not turning. Unplugged and disassembled the unit to get the fan out and tested the fan using a 9v battery and a couple of wires (best to uplug the fan from the controller board so you are not forcing voltage into the unpowered controller board... that said, I did it hooked up just peeling back the label in the centre of the fan and touching the wires to the solder contacts) The fan worked fine so figured the controller board was the issue, so this wasn't going to be a simple "buy a new fan" issue.

Here is where your mileage may vary...

I decided that it would be OK to just run the fan. Unplugged the fan and powered it from the 9V battery and assembled the unit and powered it up. Found that there was 7v available on the power board at the second pin that was alwasy on when the power switch was on (thats the positive 7 V pin, but measure it with a meter since we are talking about a different projector) and just wired the fan direct to pin 1 and 2 (1 is ground on the 4805, 2 is +7V) and so now whenever the main power is on the fan runs, so after ti cools down I just power off the main power when not in use... or let the fan run if the noise isn't an issue. Crude but effective fix.

Dell 1100mp "Temp" Light

I had the same problem and fixed it today. The fan is 70 x 70 x 20mm. I could not find the exact one, but 70 x 70 x 15 works just fine and I was able to find that fan at a Micro Center store for $8.99. The fans should be blowing air out from the front of the machine, not blowing in on the lamp.
