Its asking me to enter puk # whats PUK - Alcatel Tracfone A382 BIG EASY No-Contract Phone

When you buy a sim card you are given a PIN and a PUK number. If you enter your PIN number wrong for 3 times your cell phone will block your sim asking you for the PUK code. You should look in the papers you have been given when you bought the SIM and you should find the PUK number. If not you should contact or visit your cell phone company to solve the problem!

PUK stands for Pin Unblocking Key,this PUK code is used if wrong PIN (Personal Identification Number)code is entered for several try's.It means if you enter PIN for more than 3x,the simcard will be blocked and ask you to enter the PUK code as what is explain above.

if its the PUK code you need contact your customer service...they are the only ones that have it. as far a setting up a pin you shouldnt have to but if its asking for one most all phones default phone lock code is 1111 but the phones sercurity default lock code is 0000 once you have the PUK code and have entered it....try the 1111 first then it will have you enter it again if that dont work try the 0000 If the incorrect lock code is entered more than 3 times the phone will display "ENTER PUK". just enter the PUK code again

for the PUK code you need to contact your service provider because you enter the wrong pin code more than 3 times for that it will ask for puk code each number and each service provider puk code is diffrent you need to contact your service provider and they will ask for your sim num you need to provide the 13 digit sim number at the back side of the sim card then they will provide you the puk code after entering the puk code its ask for the new pin number you can enter the new pin number and you can use it

the puk code prompt comes up when you have entered the pin code wrong 3 times.

to get the puk code you need to call your phone service provider, the will give it to you, if you try to gess the puk code wrong too many times it will make your ssim card useless, so get the right code from your provider, they are the only ones that have it.

after the puk code it will ask you to enter a new pin code and then confirm the pin code. then the sim will work normally and ask for pin again next time instead of puk, puk will come again if you enter pin wrong 3 times.

PUK code is asked when you have entered your security code more than thrice. To reinstate your mobile you have to contact your sim service provider.
Just call the customer care from any other mobile & you'll get your PUK code. Some operators ask for few personal details. After getting the PUK code, enter it in your mobile & it will ask for new security code of your choice. Enter it twice & your mobile is ready.

So, when it says "PIN blocked. Enter PUK code", you must enter the PUK. If you correctly enter the PUK, it will asked for new PIN, by asking "Enter new PIN code:". Enter anything you want as your PIN. You will be asked to enter it twice (two times).
From what I read from your post, you have done correctly, but you don't want to enter new PIN. There is no way SIM card/phone will use old PIN. The device doesn't know your PIN. So, you have to enter new PIN.
