Not sure if this is the same problem others have discussed here.
First my Toshiba rear projection screen tv when i turned it on would go on with no picture, then flick off and turn back on with a picture. Now it just kept on turning on then off and on and off without a picture a few times, then finally would just shut itself off. Any suggestions, have no clue what I am doing with this thing.
Sounds like the convergance IC might be bad

I have a Toshiba 53 in. HDTV that recently had a repair for double image and failure to auto focus and now is turning itself on and off every 10 to 15 minutes. Does anyone have a solution for this or a owners manual (mine was lost in a recent move)? Thanks....
My 65" toshiba rear projection tv started out with a louder than normal noise coming from the fan in back. After about a month of watching tv with this annoying noise, the tv then started acting differently. When i turned it on, the fan would try to turn on (ex; rin, riin, riin) but would fail to actually stay on. in fact, it would try to turn on about 3 times then automatically shut off. This would happen about 3 or 4 times before the tv would stop trying and just shut off. During all this, there would be no picture on the screen. I really hope someone knows how to fix this problem.
