Leave the cable box powered on but disconnected from the TV or VCR. All other components should be disconnected and unplugged, giving clear and easy access to all connections. If components sit in an entertainment unit, make sure all A/V cables can reach the RF modulator and the cable from the modulator can easily reach the television.

  • Step 2 Hookup the first coaxial cable from cable box output, usually labeled "TV," "TV out" or "Out to TV" to the cable "In" on the VCR. Connect the second coaxial cable from the VCR's out to "TV" to the coaxial input on the RF Modulator.
  • Step 3 Connect the third coax cable from the coaxial cable "Out" jack on the RF Modulator to the coax cable "Input" on the television.
  • Step 4 Take one A/V cable, connect the red (right audio channel,) white (left audio channel) and yellow (video) from DVD player's "Output," to the corresponding DVD "inputs" on the RF Modulator. Place components as desired but still disconnected from power. Plug in all power cables including the RF Modulator's into the surge protected outlet strip.
  • Step 5 Make sure the Channel select switch usually found on the back of the VCR and the Channel select switch on the RF Modulator are both set to Channel 3. This channel is used on the television to view your components.
  • Step 6 Turn on the power strip and turn on the TV. Cable reception should come on as usual. Set the TV to Channel 3 and turn on the VCR. With VCR on test it by playing a video tape. The RF Modulator should sense the signal and automatically switch to "VCR."
  • Step 7 Switch off the VCR and with the television still on channel 3, turn on the DVD player. As the RF Modulator senses the DVD player signal and switches to DVD, its welcome screen should be seen on the television. Play a DVD to test and once you're done with the DVD turn it off and the cable should come back on.

I have a vcr/dvd hooked up to my present tv with a antanna. How do i hook up the digital converter. so thatI still could use vcr. Thank You

It depends on brand of converter. In Radioshack they have one with AV-in ports (for $56 (-$40 coupon = $16). So TV signal going trough antenna and DVD/VCR going trough AV-in of converter to the same antenna of TV. Or you will have to hook up the CONVERTER - ANTENNA IN VCR/DVD - Antenna OUT VCR/DVD - ANTENNA IN TV. And you will use the remote of converter to switch the channels.

    Tv/digital converter box & vcr-dvd hook-up

I have a vhs and dvd player all in one
I have a converter box hooked up to my tv and vcr , dvd player combined
I can play my movies on the tv. ok.
you have to have your tv and vcr set on channel 3. if that is what your main tv is set up with. Or 4 if you have your tv set up with that.
Mine plays ok. My settings are for channel 3
My suggestion would be to check your hook ups. maybe they are not hooked up correctly
I had to go to www.google.com and did searches to help with hook up.
I can also record station I am watching with vcr on vsh tapes. I do not have a dvd recorder.
I found out that you have to have 2 converter boxes hooked to one tv., in order to record on on station while watching another. I have not tried that, as I don't have 2 converter boxes for one tv. I found that by doing google search also. Good Luck

Connect tv vcr and dvd player to digital converter box

Yes you can first connect the converter box to the antenna first. Next hook the tv out on converter box to vcr in on vcr. Next hook the vcr out to the tv in and watch vcr and converter box on channel 3 sometimes channel 4.on the actual tv and of course change channels with converter box remote. For dvd player hook it straight to tv with red, white, and yellow cables that come with your dvd player. Then to watch dvd player if it's hooked up that way you have to put your tv on a input like video 1 or input 1. This can be done by using the tv remote and looking for a button that says tv/video or input or source button. This is some common names for that button on tv remotes.

    Can't hook up DVD player

I have a cable box and a Samsung DVD-V5500 player. How do I hook up the 3-part cable to the back of the player?

I can't hook it back up

Is your DVD player a DVD/VCR combo? If so, hook the "tv out" (sometimes called "ant out" ) to the "ant in" on the DVD/VCR, then hook the "ant out" of the DVD/VCR to the "ant in" on the tv. Then make sure the DVD/VCR and TV are on the appropriate channel (3 or 4).
If it's NOT a combo, or these instructions don't work for you, i will need pictures of the inputs/outputs of the devices.
