SOURCE: my vaporizer is making a spitting sound -

No salt, unless you had 0 steam - to stop water spit, throughly clean the water tank, just as clean as new. It will work like new if the tank is as clean as new! I dont know where the small particles of dirt come from, but trust me, I just went thru this with mine, it's got dirt in it!

SOURCE: I bought our Vicks vaporizer and it worked great

When you say you added apinch of salt I asked my wife and she says that is the measure that she uses. I doubt that you have to much salt but you can flush out your vaporizer with warm water while the unit is running. I would run two or three times for 1-2 hours each then remove element and rinse withe warm water. Also rinse out container and refill with warm water to fill line, make sure you don't overfill as this can cause the spitting. I would add about 1/4 cup of pure vinegar and let unit run. If you have hard water or high mineral content this should help to clean it.
I hope this helps you but if it doesn't I would return it as defective. Thank you

I do daycare a parent brought me the nebuilzers/breathing machine it sounds like is on but I see no mist or vapor I disesemble to see if i feel air and i do but i see no vapor mother tells me it just...

Is there distilled water or liquid medication in the container? If not, all that will come out is air. There should be an adjustment valve on the hand-held part of the nebulizer, that adjusts the liquid flow and turns it into a mist.

It does not make enough vapor and humidity

One thing you might try is to drain all water out of your unit and rinse. Refill halfway with distilled water and two cups of pure vinegar. Run unit as you would normally without any additives. It won't smell very good but it should help clean mineral sediment. Rinse and see if it helps. Good luck. Thanks

Humidifier not producing enough vapour

have you looked to getting a whole house humidifier. This elinates the need to constanly put water in a can. And they are relatively maintenance free.

Air o swiss 7133 doesn't send out any vapor

Interestingly enough as soon as I posted here, I was able to find the source of the problem. It appears that during cleaning the water level sensor, a bobber which normally floats as the water level rises, became stuck the to bottom of the water base - see below for the picture. I was able to use a small wooden spoon to lightly apply pressure and release the bobber so that it could float, and instantly the vapor started flowing again.

Vicks caporiser is spitting water instead of steam

Clean the unti - and do not add salt. I live in a major hard water city...and was amazed at how much dirt the tank collected. I tried adding salt to to stop the spitting, which did make a lot more steam, but did NOT stop teh water spit. I also noticed, with salt added, water in tank would only last 4-6 hours, not the 18-24 hours it should. I just figured it out, and now mine works great again, and does not spit. I cleaned the water tank throughly, several rinses, then wiped out entire inside. If you want it to work like new, you have to keep your tank as clean as new. I am going to start filtering my water that I put in with a double pantyhose I made simply so there no more dirt ~ a clean tank will fix the problem, it did mine :)
