Could be one of two reasons. If the compressor does not reach full pressure in the tank, you have an air leak somewhere between the tank and the business end of the hose. Run the compressor and use a soap and water solution to find the leak and correct it. Don't forget to check the copper line leading from the compressor motor to the air tank. My compressor would not pump above 45 pounds, and I had to replace the valve body (on top of the cylinder) because a valve had cracked.

AC compressor runs at most settings, not just AC and Max AC. Is this the was its supposed to be? Is there anyway to short of unplugging at compressor to have it only run at AC and Max AC?

Typical scare thing friend.Don't be concerned with it.Keeps running just to keep the collant circulating. Most newer models do this per the manufacturer.

Hello
Check that the pressure switch is installed correctly, meaning there is a in and out. There should be.
If not try turning the pressure switch around or installing it reverse of what it is now.

Also there should be an adjusment on the switch to stop it from releasing at a certin pressure.I think 150psi is max.Set it below.

What exactly does max a/c and norm a/c do; the difference, and performance? What does recirc do and why is it available during max, norm, and bilev but not during defrost? The same a/c properties are...

Hello: Max cooling is when the recirculate door opens. With the recirculate door open, 80% of the air flow comes from inside of the car and 20% is outside air. That makes the cooling more efficient. Normal a/c operation is 100% of airflow comes from the outside. These settings have nothing to do with compressor operation. Also Decreasing or increasing the amount of cooling has nothing to do with compressor operation, what that does is control the amount of air going from the evaporator core either through or past the heater core. The a/c compressor runs the same amount of time regardless of settings on the control panel. Also in cool weather the compressor runs in the defrost mode to keep the windows from fogging up. None of these settings affect performance, the only time performance is affected is wide open throttle (WOT) in that mode the engine computer shuts off the compressor to allow max power of the engine, ie: passing gear.. When A/C is selected the compressor is on, none of the settings will affect gas mileage, ie, low/high, max/normal 60 degree or 90 degree.

Hello, my name is Matt and I'm on my second gas operated T30 and the Kohler engine is about to go on this one too. I'm considering mounting the 2475 pump under my truck and running it off of a PTO....

Ingersol Rand compressors are driven by a variety of motors and gas engines. They set the rpm of the pump based on the required cfm /psi output required by the customer and power source. Your compressor has aprox 12- 15 hp gas engine that develops full power at about 3600 rpm of the engine. The pump will most likely be turning about 1000 rpm. Easy to check, just mark both pulleys and count the number of turns of the engine pulley compared to the pump. Pump specifications can be found at www.grainger.com. You will find that most ingersol pumps turn from 650-1200 rpm for max output. You will max pump life if you are able to keep rpms low (600 - 1000 turns). The pump will not lubricate properly if you turn too fast. The compressor needs between 5 and 15 hp depending on the cut-out pressure. Full hp is required as the pump neers 175psi. Good luck with your project.

Freezer and fridge are getting warmer and warmer despite their settingsGE Profie PDS 20 MFS 2005

ONE OF THE MOST COMMON CAUSES FOR A SERVICE CALL IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU STATE, THE MAX SETTINGS ARE SET AND STILL ITS NOT GETTING COOLER, ESPECIALLY IN FRIDGE SECTION RIGHT?
IF YOU ARE MAKING ICE THATS DRY THE FREEZER IS OK,
THE PROBLEM 90% OF THE TIME IS THIS
AS THE FRIDGE SECTION IS RELIANT 100% UPON THE COLD AIR MIGRATING INTO THE FRIDGE COMPARTMENT VIA A LITTLE FLAPPER DOOR THAT OPENS OR CLOSES OR IN BETWEEN AS WELL , THUS ALLOWING MORE OR LESS AIR TO MIGRATE INTO THE REFRIGERATOR SIDE FROM THE FREEZER SIDE
THE STUPIDEST THING IS THE FRIDGE SAYS MAX COLD ON BOTH SETTINGS, ONE ACTUALLY CONTROLS THE COMPRESSOR AND DETERMINES HOW LONG THE COMPRESSOR WILL RUN IT USUALLY IS OFF AND 1-10 , THE ONE THAT TURNS OFF THE COMPRESSOR ISNT THE ONE THAT DETERMINES THE REFRIGERATORS TEMP! THE OTHER SETTING FOR COLDER FREEZER DOES!!!! TAKE THAT SETTING BACK OFF OF MAX FOR COLDER FREEZER AND THE LITTLE FLAPPER WILL OPEN ALL THE WAY , WHEN SET FOR MAX COLD THE FRIDGE SIDE STARVES!, ANY SETTING 1-10 SHOULD STILL KEEP THE FREEZER FREEZING AND MAKING ICE IS THE KEY! IF IT CAN THEN ITS NOT A REFRIGERATION PROBLEM , IT IS A CIRCULATION ISSUE

Brand new Black Max 5 gallon wont run

Unplug the compressor power chord. If you can turn the flywheel, then nothing is stuck. Plug in the power chord and try the compressor again. If it does not work, return the compressor for a replacement.

If you can't turn the flywheel, then something is stuck, return the compressor for a replacement.

If you can't return the compressor for a replacement, then try to take it apart to locate the problem and fix it.

EC-12 runs but only builds to 35 psi and continues to run

It looks like there might be a knob which sets the max air pressure coming from the compressor. If there is one, this may have been turned down.

There are usually 3 pressure settings on an electric compressor. Compressor max, pressure switch cut on, and pressure switch cut off.

Compressor tries to keep running pops the breaker

Inside the control unit is a spirally spring like diapragm, it holds a ball bearing that should shut off the compresor at max pressure. The ball bearing has probably fallen inside the tank. Now it won't shut off so it tries to keep runniong. The back pressure cause an overload on the compressor motor and so blows the breaker. You need a bigger ball bearing or a replacement diaphragm. However you cannot get parts as there is a safety recall see this site: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml02/02108.html
