I have run into the same problem with a different model (32 inch from Circuit City). You may have found that there is almost no support from the co or web. I do not have an official solution but have some work arounds that have done the job for me.
WA#1 = after a channel scan tune to a HD/digital channel before you turn the set off. You need to do this each time for several times, because the set when turned on to a regular cable or analog station will default to skip all channels. After several times the set should remember your channels.
WA#2 = after a channel scan, go to the skip channel section of the menu, and if your remote has the colored buttons on the bottom scroll through the channels using the red and green (up and down on this menu) buttons. This apparently helps the set remember not to skip your scanned channels.
These are not glamorous solutions but appear to trick the TV into not re-setting the skip function for the channels.
Best of luck.

New TV's or new problem? If these are new TV's it could be that they are set on something other than the Cable Input Option.
On your remote press the input button to get an onscreen menu and set them to cable.
Otherwise, if you installed these yourself recently, recheck all connections to make sure they are set up correctly, using the manuals that came with the TVs. My guess is that you may have connected them incorrectly to/from the cable input device.
If these are not new TVs and this is a new problem, take a look at your outside cable box. Occasionally one can have a problem with an input cable. If that is the case, the cable company needs to be called to replace or repair.
Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: my t.v. only say please run channel auto scan.
That means when it finished scanning, it found no channels. Check your cables to make sure they are connected properly. If you have digital cable and your tv is not digital, it will not find anything.
Where I live comcast(xfinity) removed all analog channels from service so anyone who wanted service would be required to rent one of their cable boxes.

ensure the set is adjusted to receive the type of channels that are broadcast in your area. By this I mean that if digital is broadcast ensure the tv is setup for digital reception.
I assume that you are using an antenna/aerial. Ensure that this correctly installed and is functioning, there may be a facility on the tv to check the reception via a swr meter of some kind, basically a utiliity that registers that an aerial is bringing in some kind of signal.
It cannot be anything else, if the tv is setup for the local broadcast type and the aerial is connected the signals should be found unless you have very bad reception due to environmental conditions.... in which case you may have to invest in a reception booster/signal amplifier.
