The power supply is going in to protection. There is a short somewhere.

Since you sound like you are able to service the set, remove the CRT socket and see if the set starts up and has high voltage. If so, the CRT may have a short in the electron-gun, or it is being over-biased from the CRT board.

I don't know the particular model design of your set. In the models that I do know, I have had components on the CRT board go defective and cause over-biasing of the CRT and cause a shutdown on startup.

Sometimes the components on the CRT board fail because the CRT is at fault, and it is arching some very high voltage back out to the devices on the CRT board. In this case, they will soon fail again.

If the above does not work, then it is possible that the flyback transformer has some shorted turns, or there is a failure in the HV multiplier.

Other things that can cause a shut down is if there is any components in any of the areas of the set that are causing too much current pull from the supply.

These sets can become very involved and a challange for the most experienced of techs to service.

Rav285 receiver. When the tv and receiver are turned on, why is there no sound?

The audio outputs on the rear of the TV (if present) should be connected to the audio inputs on the rear of the receiver. From your description, it seems the present connection is incorrect.

Samsung LN-S4051D slow to turn on.

You are likely to have a module bad....part number BN94-00864A and if you take it out (unpluggs) you should inspect it for capacitors that may be domed or pooched up at the top. If so they should be replaced first before getting the module as the capacitors are about $1.00 each. Do a search for Samsung parts online if you need the module and call them toll free

Kenmore 665.6061200 over range microwave. Problem started a few days ago with a clicking sound from the RH side of the unit (seemingly behind the control panel), about 3 clicks per second for about 3-4...

The most likely cause of the clicking sound is the power relay that is connected to the microwaves PCB (circuit board) that turns the magnetron on and off. If starting to fail it may result in multiple clicks, then once fully failed, your microwave would simply not heat anything (as the high voltage components would not be getting power).
Unless you have a strength in electronics and repair, and understand the lethal dangers involved in working on a microwave, even one that is unplugged, this problem will likely need to be repaired by a qualified service centre.
Depending on the microwave design and the technician the whole relay circuit board may need to be replaced making this repair vary from relatively inexpensive to more expensive.

My TV cannot turn ON

1 check for short on HOT (horizonal output transistor) or bad flyback transformer. 2 check the AC voltage on the relay switching side. if AC voltage is not present on both pins and the relay is engaged replace the relay.3 check for shorts on voltage regulators you will need a schematic for this.
