Remot Starter Cranks but car won't start.

I have a 2008 Honda CRV with a viper 1400xp. It just recently began not working. The remote starter will try three times to start the car, but is never does. The engin does crank for about 1.5 second but it never starts. I upped the crank time to 4 seconds just to see if the car would start, it would not. When I use the key it takes about 1.8 seconds to start. I tried using the remote starter with the key in the ignition but it still won't start it only cranks. It is almost like the starters security system kill switch engaged, but I can start the car with my key so it can't be that. Any ideas?

Did you connect the tach wire of the unit to your car? if not you need to refer to your documentation to turn on or off the tachless operation for the unit to work correctly.

Camry 2002 Remote Starter Conflicts Car Starter

You need to call Viper and talk to their tech support. It sounds like the viper is actually disabling the starter. If you have all of your paperwork from the alarm system there should be a book that can help walk you through the reprogramming mode. Maybe your key fob is not synced to the alarm system. I have a clifford alarm which is still a viper. I have to press the star button 3 times in a row if I want my car to start remotely. hope this helps some.

I have 2009 CRV. I replessed battery and my remont start top work, crank no start .How i can progrram?

Crank, no start problem for a remote starter on a newer Honda is an immobilizer issue. Your immobilizer bypass needs to be reset.

Remote Car starter won't work

put your key in the ignition, then remote start it, if it starts, you need to either move the transponder loop of key or reprogram the transponder or take it to a remote starter shop

Problems Starting my 2009 Honda CRV

Your post interested me, as I just purchased the same vehicle lasts month. The grinding noise while attempting to start the CRV sounds like like a problem with the starter 'clashing ' with the flywheel. When you turn the key to start there is , a small gear in the starter on a shaft that advances (moves down the shaft) and meshes with the flywheel (which is a large 'gear'). When they mesh together, the starter gear will spin, and turn the flywheel, which 'cranks' the engine over to start. When a car is old, you can experience a loud grinding noise, as the wear and tear can cause the gears to clash, not mesh smoothly. Since this is an '09, that of course isn't a wear and tear issue, something was not tightened during assembly, or is defective. You MUST bring it to the dealer, to establish that there is a problem, even if they deny it. To continue to drive it could cause damage to components (actually driving it is probably ok, it's the starting it that will cause damage). So, insist that they check it out, you may be surprised by their desire to fix it, and have a happy customer to advertise their cooperation and quick fix of the problem. Hondas are great cars, hopefully this is a rare minor assembly or defective part glitch that will be quickly fixed. Keep me posted as to your visit to the dealer. Remember that you can bring it to any Honda dealer, although I would start with the one where I purchased it. The car is under warranty, get them to fix it, and enjoy your new car.
