WHY DO MY COMPUTER STARTS WITH TWO STEP?

Sounds like it is in sleep mode at startup. On some compaq, hp, and emachines the power button also serves as a sleep button. If you touch it, they go to sleep, hold it down at least 4 seconds, they shut off. If it was shut off this way that could happen. Also look in display properties under sreenssaver/power options to find the timeout on going to sleep, hibernate, password on waking up, using the tabs,(xp), or categories on the left (vista, 7, 8) to find these features. Also check under power schemes, advanced, and UPS to select timeout features and password on waking up. If it was touched to sleep, touching it should wake it up and allow it to be shutdown properly. On the next startup it should be normal.

My HP w2007 has started clicking to Monitor Going to Sleep and then going blank. I have never known how to wake it up so I have to turn the whole computer off and restart. HELP

Hey there, Normally simply pressing a random key on your keyboard or moving your mouse should wake it up, if it doesn't though I think the easiest way to solve this is to simply turn off the sleep mode after x amount of time.
If you have windows 7, press the start button and type in "power options", go ahead and open power options and there you will be able to set the time it takes before your PC shuts down, and you can also set it to never.

If you still wish to use this feature but just want to be able to it's a bit tricky and it won't even work for all PCs but if the keyboard waking isn't working, then it's probably because your pc does have this feature. When your PC is off, boot it up again and enter the bios by pressing F10 i believe it is for HP. And somewhere you should be able to set which devices are allowed to wake up your computer, all devices are probably disabled now, so go ahead and enable the keyboard to wake up your computer. Now save and exit, and the next time your PC goes to sleep mode you should be able to wake it up by pressing a key on your keyboard.

I hope I was able to assist. If I was, please don't forget to rate this solution.

How do i set my alarm and when do i know it is on or off....keeps coming on and i dont know how to shut off the alarm...thank you

This clock radio features a dual alarm system, with two separate alarms that can be operated independently. The alarms can be set to wake two people at different times, or to have a main alarm and a backup. One alarm features your choice of radio stations as an alarm wake sound, while the second features a buzzer wake sound. You can set the radio alarm, the buzzer alarm, or both alarms.
Setting Radio Alarm
1. Press the "Alarm Set" Button. The display will flash and the Radio Alarm Indicator will appear. If you do not begin setting the time within ten seconds of pressing the it, the display will stop flashing andd you will need to press the "alarm Set Button again. 2. While the display flashes, press the "Tuning/Set" Buttons to set the wake time. Hold a button for a few seconds to advance the time rapidly. Be sure to set the correct AM/PM time, as shown by the PM Indicator. 3. After setting the radio alarm time, you will need to select the station to wake up to. First, press the "AM/FM" Button to select a radio frequency. Next, select a station using the "Radio Preset Buttons". Rotate the Volume Thumbwheel to set a wake sound volume level. 4. After setting the radio alarm wake time and sound, you will need to select your 7-5-2 setting. The 7-5-2 setting lets you set the alarm for a full week, weekdays only, or the weekend. Before setting the alarm, be sure that the correct date is set. 5. After you have set the radio alarm wake time, wake sound, and 7-5-2 setting, press the "Alarm Set" Button twice so that the display shows the standard, non-flashing display.
Setting Buzzer Alarm
1. Press the "Alarm Set" Button twice. The display will flash and the Buzzer Alarm Indicator will appear. 2. While the display flashes, press the "Tuning/Set" Buttons to set the wake time, as described above. 3. After setting the buzzer wake time, use the "Date/7-5-2" Button to select the buzzer. 4. After you have set the buzzer wake time and 7-5-2 setting, press the "Alarm Set" Button once so that the display shows the standard, non- flashing display.
Activating the Alarms
1. To activate the radio alarm, press the "Radio Alarm" Button so that the Radio Alarm Indicator appears on the display. As long as this indicator appears, the alarm will sound at the set time and days. 2. To activate the buzzer alarm, press the "Buzzer Alarm" Button so that the Buzzer Alarm Indicator appears on the display. As long as this indicator appears, the alarm will sound at the set time and days. 3. When the alarm sounds, press the " Off/Reset" Button to turn off the alarm while still maintaining the programmed 7-5-2 alarm settings. To turn off an alarm and cancel its 7-5-2 settings, press its "Alarm Button" so that its Alarm Indicator no longer appears on the display. 4. To activate the snooze feature, press the "Snooze/Night-Light" Bar when the alarm sounds. The alarm will shut off for approximately nine minutes before sounding again. The feature can be repeated several times during the one-hour snooze cycle. 5. If it is not turned off, the alarm will sound for an hour before stopping. As long as an Alarm Indicator appears on the display, the alarm will sound at the set time, according to the 7-5-2 settings.

  1. Press the SET button until WAKE 1 / WAKE 2 icon is blinking.

Can you wake up to a particular song, or does it always play the first song?

Unfortunately , in this CD player, you can't select the starting song for wake up feature, it will start from the fisrt song of the CD, what you could do is to record your own wake up disk, putting your sort of songs.

When i shut down my pc it shuts down, but the psu stays on, i can turn it off by the button but not by the desktop, any ideas???

Hi, "Sleep" mode or "standby" mode allows your computer to go on standby or sleep until you "wake" it up again. This is a power saving feature which is usually used for a few hours. You can change it to completely shut down everything (including power supply) in power supply options in your control panel. Check out your help section for sleep or standby options. Hank

It shut off.

Turn it on by holding in the power button - it is normal for that model to go to sleep while it is playing, as a powersaving feature - but it shouldn't stop playing the music, the screen should just go away. Usually pressing any key will wake it back up.
