The principle is the same for most pull start motors.
- Take it apart (remove the starter assembly)
- Pull the cord out as far as it will go.
- Use a nail or screwdriver to stop the spool from rewinding
- Remove the cord
- Install a new cord the same way that the old one was attached
- Remove the nail (or screwdriver
- Re-attach the starter assembly
