Read the fsm manual
or get it serviced
ABS is first. for ABS to work right , brakes have to work right.
check fuses
scan it. (OBD2 scan tool)
see the ABS codes. and all PCM DTC errors
if scanning it is too much trouble , that wont stop your
mechanic, he will,

most scan tools can to all ABS
so shop careful.
mine does. innova 3160

Citroen c5 esp/asr system fault

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS, TPMS, MIL, CEL and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Anti-lock brake system. TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module. TPMS Tire Pressure Monitor System, MIL Malfunction Indicator Lamp, CEL Check Engine Light.

4 Faults detected on engine diagnostics check

Try first unplugging battery cable for ten minutuse, to reset ECM, and do a scan again, there are too many unrelated error codes at the same time

The esp light went on first and then the glow plug warning sign on my 2005 TDi passat. said workshop assistance, what is the problem

Check & replace if necessary the brake pedal switch placed above pedals on the support.
If the problem still occurs you might access the ABS & ESP ECU (Electronic Control Unit) using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car, in order to pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) memored.
Then you will be able to replace bad piece(s) and fix the problem by erasing all DTC stocked inside ABS ECU & reset it.

The ESP system means the Electronic Stability Program. If the ESP lights on the dashboard permanently the ESP system is faulty. You must access the ESP Electronic Control Unit (ECU) memory for pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car. Then you will be full informed about bad pieces (e.g.: brake pedal switch, front right wheel abs sensor interrupted, ...). After bad pieces replacement you will be able to erase all faults memored by ESP ECU, in other words reset the ESP system and turn off the warning lamp on dashboard.
I'm convinced that your brake pedal switch is faulty because the glow plug warning sign went ON after ESP warning light. Just replace the brake pedal switch, see if rear stop lamps light when press the brake pedal, and test the car on the road.
Good Luck!

Esp light and abs light keeps going on and off very frequently

ESP (electronic stability program) and the ABS (anti-lock brake system) are the same system, you must have the system tested by the dealer when the light is on, it requires a special scanner to read the fault code that is present when the warning lights are on.

The 4WD! Warning Light keeps coming on then turns off, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) light is on sometimes and not others and the Traction Control System (TCS) Indicator Light. the first time they...

TCS And 4wd use the abs wheel sensors to engage and disengage so if there is a slight fault in the abs sensor system TCS will be disabled and the 4wd will either not engage or disengage depending on the drive position set at time of fault that is what the lights are telling you
Get the sensor system checked out from the abs rings on the axles to the sensors and wiring to the abs pump controller

ABS and ESP lights on all the time. I bought Audi A4 B6 2004 only two months ago. It started in heavy rain.

The ESP system means the Electronic Stability Program. If the ESP & ABS lights on the dashboard permanently the ESP & ABS system is faulty. You must access the ESP & ABS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) memory for pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car (placed in dashboard, under a plastic cover above the ashtray). Then you will be full informed about bad pieces (e.g.: front right wheel abs sensor interrupted, ...). After bad pieces replacement you will be able to erase all faults memored by ESP & ABS ECU, in other words reset the ESP & ABS system and turn off the warning lamp on dashboard.

Audi TT 1.8 petrol 2000. Removing ESP switch on dash, are there any know tips? Regards ****

The ESP light has come on due to a fault with the abs/ traction system . It will req fault code reading by a diagnostic tester to determine the fault more than likely a abs wheel speed sensor.
