Error code & would not sew after 2 uses.

Got this as a Christmas gift. Have used it twice since then for little things. Seemed to be fine. Decorative stitches worked and the straight stitches turned out good too. But didn't last. Just took it out to use on a bigger project and it just stopped sewing. The foot pedal wouldn't work at all. The back stitch button would sew though. If you tapped the pedal aggressively at times it would delay and then jump forward 3 stitches and then display the C3 error code saying the foot pedal was disconnected, which it clearly wasn't. Tried the Singer CS line. Was caller number 20, was on hold for 40 mins when I finally got down to caller number 4. All of a sudden the operator hung up the call and stated "their offices are now closed." I was furious. Needles to say, it went back to WalMart and I won't be buying another one.

Trying to thread bobbin and viewed manual several times. singer model 7258. screen first flashes C3 and then ][. cannot find troublr shooting codes in manual.

Why do I keep getting a C3 error (accompanied by lots of beeps) when I turn on my machine? The C3 error as well as the beeping when you turn on your machine indicates the foot control plug is not fully pushed into the sewing machine. Turn off your sewing machine and push the foot contol plug into the machine fully. Turn your sewing machine back on.

Janome dks 100 se - it keeps beeping when I press the foot pedal and I have to do this several times before it starts sewing. It doesn't beep when using the stop/start button and is sewing fine

Same machine and model and same problem. It’s really irritating. It’s not the bobbin as the screen flashes worth the foot pedal. I’ll look at the tension but given how often it beeps and on so many different projects with different thread and tension it seems to be a fault of some kind... searching for a fix...

Singer confience stylist beeps four time and won't let me sew

The beeps usually indicates that your machine is not ready to sew which probably means a function has been left in the activated mode, ie bobbin winder, buttonhole function, etc. . Here are some ideas:

The needle does not move when the foot pedal is used.

Make sure that you pushed the bobbin winder all the way to the left.

I was free motion quilting, machine stopped. Beeps three times when I push foot pedal and won't sew

Hi there,

Check your buttonhole lever, left back of the machine. Pull it down and push it right up into the machine. Should solve your problem

My machine beeps and will not sew when the foot peddle is pushed. i checked the BH lever inside the light cover and the small black switch appears to be in the up position. any other ideas?

make sure the foot pedal cord is pushed in correctly
rethread the machine top & bobbin
clean under the needle plate where the feed dogs are for lint
also clean the bobbin are for lint or loose threads
change needles

but also the foot pedal could have gone out

Beeps several times and stops sewing.

I had the same problem. Through trial and error, I found the problem was with the thread tension. Usually the thread became wrapped around the spool holder as it was coming off the spool. As you continue to press the pedal, tension is created. When you release the pedal, some slack develops in the threading process and you are able to sew a few more stitches before the beeping starts again. If the thread is caught on the spool holder, simple re-thread the machine. That generally works for me. Also you can try to push to spool holder in as close as possible to the spool pin to alleviate any gaps. If the beeping continues to happen, place you thread in a cup behind the machine and thread as usual. You can also purchase an inexpensive thread holder. I made one out of a wood block and other odds and ends found around the house. Good Luck!
