Try installing a brand new needle. If it still will not pick up the bobbin thread, most likely the machine is out of time. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

Perhaps the disk has been damaged? Difficult to diagnose without knowing the machine make and model.

try rethreading the machine top & bobbin
change the needle--flat side to the back of the machine, make sure the needle is the right one for the fabric being sewed
clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or theads

Try a new needle and rethreading. Check your threading by putting the presser foot up , then pull thead, should move smoothly, now put presser foot down, now pull, it should barely move. This usually seats the thread in the tension discs.

I collect very old sewing machines (mostly Singer) and would be very happy to help you with your 'new' machine. The first thing we have to do is figure out which model you have. Could you please send me a couple of photos? That will help tremendously. Also, there should be a number plate on the right side of the base. Could you tell me what that number is? That will help identify the model and tell us approximately how old the machine is.

bobbin goes under the door of the needal, the thead come out from the right to the left, thead goes in the first edge and up and out of the left, you need the needal to be treaded, turn the round right know till the needal goes in and out , pull the tread up and out together.
