My cx1055 elliptical resistance is not working how it should. Once I get to resistance lever 4 or higher it starts out with the resistance but then it slips as you step into it. Any suggestions?

Life FItness elliptical model X7 has too much resistance on startup. Prevents use for warming up.

It sounds like the resistance on your Life Fitness X7 elliptical is set too high for the machine to be used effectively as a warm-up tool. There are a few things you can try to adjust the resistance on the machine.
  • Check the user manual that came with the elliptical to see if there are any specific instructions for adjusting the resistance.
  • Check the resistance settings on the dashboard to ensure that they are set to the correct level.
  • Check the resistance adjustment knob or lever to ensure that it is not stuck or jammed in place.
  • Check the belt tension on the elliptical to ensure that it is not too tight.
  • Check to ensure that there is no debris or dust in the resistance mechanism.
  • If the issue still persists after trying the above steps, it may be best to contact Life Fitness technical support or consult a technician for further assistance.
It is also a good idea to inspect the machine overall for any damage or wear.
If all else fails, the used elliptical may have a defect or may not be compatible with your needs. You may need to consider purchasing a new one or a different model for your clients warm-up needs.

Nordictrack cx 1055 There is No Resistance. It used to take several seconds to get resistance. But now the resistance is Zero. The Ramp raises and lowers just fine. Is there a video somewhere showi

Sounds like a small control board may have died, more specifically, a failed capacitor or such. Resistance is often achieved by pulsing an "eddy current" brake driven by a transistor, or draining a generator charge electrically, which are attached to a central crank, which stiffens the torque required to rotate and the user sees this as a increase in resistance :-) you can always contact jatinah electronics for further help.

Check power problems if the console on the elliptical machine does not light up. Make sure that the plug for the machine is secure in the outlet. If it is plugged in, ensure that the outlet is receiving power. Check the breaker to make sure it has not tripped off.
Be sure that you are using the correct adapter that came with the elliptical machine. Because different adapters are able to handle differing amounts of energy, the wrong adapter will not transfer electricity like it should. If the adapter is pinched or damaged, this could also alter its effectiveness.

  • 2 Make sure the correct adapter is being used if the resistance settings seem to be too hard or too easy. If the correct adapter is being used, reset the machine. To reset the machine, either switch the "On/Off" button or unplug the machine from the wall. Doing this will allow the device to reset itself to the default resistance. Turn on or plug the device back into the wall and retry all of the levels of resistance.

Do not be concerned if you see small particles left on the guide rails. Over time, the roller wheels gradually wear down. When this occurs, they leave residue on the rails. Because this is considered to be normal wear, all you need to do to fix the problem is wipe the rails off with a damp cloth.

Minimize the risk of receiving erratic readouts on the monitors by avoiding outside interference. For example, gripping the heart rate handlebars too tightly can affect the monitor. Similarly, the heart rate grips can be rendered less effective when there is too much vibration. Consider not holding these monitors throughout the workout to minimize vibration. The readouts also can be affected by jewelry. To minimize errors, take off rings and other jewelry before working out on an elliptical machine.

    Resistance

This could be caused by either a bad lower electronic board or the brake/generator. Inspect the leveling feet on the rear stabilizer of the elliptical. Note if both sides are not flush to the floor. Unplug the machine if they are not flush to the floor.

  • Turn the leveling feet on one side or both with your hand until they are fully in contact with the floor so the machine will not make noise and tilt sideways during workouts
  • Plug in the machine. Use the machine as normal and listen for any noises. Clean and calibrate the ramp again if there is noise but the machine doesn't rock, and adjust the leveling feet again if the elliptical wavers.
