Canon A470 LCD screen is out of focus. Is there a setting I can change to fix it?

Not for the lcd screen. Are your pictures in focus ?-If so then the issue is with your screen. If pictures also not in focus then the problem is with your lens focusing mechanism.

Why do I get blurry pictures on screen even when I'm focusing.

Go to MENU. Then TOOLS. Make sure Motion Detection is in AUTO.
If that is on AUTO then Put the camera on a hard surface (like tripod) and focus and see if image is still blurry. Lastly, it is difficult to focus in some conditions. Move the focus point, you can click on the screen to change it. Blur can be caused by: long exposures, camera motion during photograph, bad conditions unable to focus.

The focus routine in this camera gets confused often. It can be frustration. It will only be in focus when it is GREEN before you shoot and the camera is not shaking. At night it can take great night shots with a TRIPOD and Exposure set to -1 to -2.

How do I set my sl620 to selective focus.

Your camera is a point and shoot. This means the camera does auto focus when you want to make a picture. The focus point is in the square in he middle of the screen. The only thing you can change is when you want to make macro pictures. The camera will try to find a focus point within 2 or 3 feet.
Ion some scenes, the focus will differ just a little, like in sports, it will try to be automatic.
The trick every professional photographer uses, is place the focus point on the part, you want to have in focus in your picture. Then press the shutter release button half and wait till the camera is in focus. Then reframe the picture as you want it to be. Then press the button fully. Just as described on page 31 of the manual.

Nikon l120 focus is off

I don't know what your perception of proper focusing is.
If there is enough light and enough contrast in the subject you want sharp (in focus) on your picture, you only have to point the camera to the point you want in focus on. Then you press the shutter release button half and wait till the camera is in focus. This is indicated by the focus point on top of the screen. as long as you keep the button half way down, you can move the camera and the focus will not be changed. So you can make changes to the composition. Then when you press the button down complete the picture should be sharp, where you focused on.
Don't try to make a picture, by pressing the button complete. as quick as you can, because the camera won't react as fast as a DSRL.

VIEW SCREEN IS SO BLURRY I CAN'T TELL WHAT ITS SHOWING.

Is it the viewfinder (that you hold up to your eye) or the screen that's blurry?
If the viewfinder is blurry, there should be a diopter adjustment to fix it, probably right above the rubber eye cup.
If the screen is blurry, you should take some pictures and video and view them on a computer. I they are sharp on the computer but blurry on the camera screen, there may be a problem with the screen and you may need to take it in for repair.
If the pictures are blurry on the computer as well, the camera may not be focusing properly. If you can't focus manually, or the camera can't focus when auto focus is turned on, you have good light, and aren't too close to your subject, then it may need to be serviced.

The problem is its having difficulty in focusing on objects. If your going to take a picture its so blurred and hazy but if you are gonna see the stored pictures its so clear.

Blurry picture could be caused by insufficient lighting or constant camera vibration. Try increasing the ISO to max and fixing the camera so it doesn't move. If the picture itself is focused, than maybe you have a problem with the cameras' screen. If the picture is still not focused (nor camera screen or stored one) than maybe you have to clean the lens. Use a dry smooth cloth. If that doesn't work, than maybe you have a sensor problem. For that you'll have to contact the company for warranty.

When i try and take a picture the camera continues adjusting and r06 appears in the screen on the top of the camera

Hi,

Could this be the auto focus?
Try this, put what you want to focus on in the center of the screen, in the [ ] part.
Lightly press the shutter button and keep the pressure on.
The camera will focus and then wait.
If you now press the shutter button all the way down the camera will take the picture.

The r06 just means the camera can take 6 more pictures quickly before the picture buffer fills up.
Unless you are using the fast drive mode this will not matter to you.

I hope this helps.

Focus,

When operating any digital camera, the camera tries to capture the best focus and exposure for that particular scene. By pressing the shutter button half-way down, the focus and exposure is being set. There will be a green circle on the upper left hand corner of the screen, then your camera is ready to take the picture. Slowly depress the shutter the rest of the way down to take the picture.

Pictures are blur

Hi,

Your pictures are blurry because the camera did not focus properly on the subject.

First, turn on the camera in any picture taking mode (or video mode), then look at the screen or viewfinder. There should be four white corners in the center of the camera display. This is your targeting area.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Aim the camera at your subject so this center area is directly on it.

2. Press the shutter button lightly, not all the way down. Wait for a second or two WITHOUT RELEASING YOUR FINGER. If the white corners turn green, keep the finger on the button and press it all the way.

(Once the screen flashes black, a picture is taken and you can release the finger).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the targeting area turns red and blinks, then the camera has not focused. You can to try to focus again by following step 1 and 2. If a picture is taken when the targeting area is red, then the picture will be blurry.

If there is no targeting area, then you can still focus by aiming the camera at your subject. Now follow step 2. A green box will appear on the subject, then a sharp picture can be taken.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The red arrow that flashes means that the pictures or videos are being written onto the memory card.

Also, try to be steady when taking pictures, because slight hand movement can cause blurry images too.

Page 25 in the DMC-FZ7's english manual will also explain how to focus.

LCD - Focus

DSLR camera was not made to be used as a point and shoot camera and you cant preview the shot before taking a picture. You are to use the eye piece to focus right. Also before taking a picture, push the exposure button just a little to let the camera focus right.
