Washer lid locks and sensor light comes on and then lid unlocks and blinks. What causes this?

Usually if you cut the power at the wall, it will release the Lock solenoid.

lid lock shouldn't blink, probably lid lock sensor. you need to dismantle and see

If you replaced the lid lock then you know how to get the top of the cabinet up lift the top up there should be a technical sheet in a plastic packet on the front panel it will tell you how to run a diagnostic if not there turn machine off press and hold any button except power/cancel for 3 seconds release 3 seconds repeat until 88 appears after that any fault codes should appear I have only had to replace a control twice on these units I am curious to see if you get an F50 or F51 code this is the most common when this machine first starts the lid should lock a short rotation of the basket lid unlocks then locks a short fill then rotation of the basket let me know what you find could be the control but I would like to eliminate the rotor and RPS sensor

Most likely it's the shift actuator but this washer design has had many problems. I would first unplug/replug all the wiring connectors. Tilt machine back for access to connectors for motor, capacitor, shift actuator and pump. You might want to pull the pump and make sure nothing is caught in there. Also do the connectors at the control board. Check for error codes as per tech manual and reset them. Perform the calibrate function. If nothing works, replace the shift actuator. It is a very high failure item on this washer design. If you buy it from here and it doesn't solve the problem, you can return it.

If the green cycle light is flashing on then off, this usually means the cycle is paused. The lid lock should unlock when in pause mode, if not you will need to press and hold the "Pause/Play" button to clear the cycle completely, if there is water in the unit, it will drain first, then unlock the lid and be on standby to start a new cycle. Pleazer Appliance...

Its normal for the machine to cycle the lock before starting its cycle. I'm assuming your machine is a bravos style.
