Appears that when you disable the wired you default to the wireless.

SOURCE: Couldn't get internet via Wirless Router

HI! I bliv u are having some issue setting up ur router.. I will be more than glad to assist u. here are the steps u need to do:

1. press the reset button on the back of the router for 20sec..while pressing the reset button, unplug the power plug and after 2secs while pressing the reset button plug it back in and press for 30secs after that unplug the router for 15secs then plug it back in..once all the lights are solid and ok
2. connect the ethernet cable to port1 of the router and the other end to the lan port of your computer..
3. pull up ur browser then type at the url:192.168.1.1.or 192.168.0.1 or u can check the routers default gateway by right clicking the network icon on the lower right of your task bar and click on status and it will show the ip address of the computer, subnetmask and default gateway, the default gateway is the routers ip address, once u type in to the url, it will ask u the username and password, by default the username is admin and the password is 1234 or just leave it blank
4. it will show the setup page of the router. u can set the router on the specific internet setup that u have.
a. if ur isp is a cable company, normaly u need to do a mac clone on the router setup page by cloning the computer that is reg to the cable company, how to determine it. ex. the computer that is reg to the cable company is a desktop or laptop, if this computer is connected to the modem directly and u can access internet.
b. once u determined it u need to connect this computer directly to the router and do a mac clone and set ur internet settings to auto-dhcp..then save the settings and after that, unplug to the power of the modem and router, plug in 1st the power of the modem then once all lights lit, plug in the router, then once all lights lit, try to pull up a browser that ur computer is connected directly to the router.. ur cable connection shud be, cable from the modem will go to the WAN port of the router and connect ethernet cable on port1 going to the lan port of the computer..once u can access the internet, u can now access again the setup page of the router by typing at the url:192.168.1.1 and u can setup the wireless settings, u need to create a ssid or wireless name and a security..
5. If ur isp is a dsl normaly they give u a username and password to connect to the internet, ur settings on the router should be PPPoe
6. If ur isp gives u a static ip address settings, u need to set the router to isp setup.
a. how to check the isp of the isp given to u..
1. click on start
2. run
3. type cmd
4. it will show a dos prompt
5. from the dos prompt type ipconfig/all
6. it will list the ip address, subnet, default gateway, dns server
this settings should be type in to the settings on the router for static ip addressing..

With the steps that I given to you, it was mention earlier that u used the pppoe, dhcp, but not static ip, if your computer is directly connected to the adsl modem it works perfectly. this is the specs of ur modem:
Supporting 1483B bridging and routing function Supporting DHCP server, NAT/NAPT , PAP/CHAP, IP Filter, Firewall, protocol block Built-in PPPOE/PPPOA dialing..

you can try two option:

1. your modem is equip of supporting dhcp server, if u can access ur modem and set it to bridge mode so that the dhcp server wont conflict with the router bcoz the router has a dhcp capabilities as well.
2. you need to disable the dhcp of the router so that the modem will act as the server and will give ip address to your computers..

this 3rd option will be your last solution if both dont work..

try to check the ip address of the modem, if the the ip address of the modem is 192.168.1.1 and the ip address of the router is 192.168.1.1 as well, connect your computer directly to the router and change the 3rd octet of the ip address, ex-192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1 then your connecttion should be , the cable form the adsl model goes to the port 4 of the router and the router should be set on a dhcp settings..

I hope this solution will help you. good luck

if you have any querry pls feel free to get in touch.. good luck

SOURCE: Using wireless laptop for internet

When you use your wireless-enabled computer far outside the range of your wireless-enabled router, you definitely will be trying to connect to a different wireless-enabled router.

That "foreign" router will broadcast a different SSID than your router is broadcasting.
Use "View Available Wireless Networks" to find that SSID, and "connect" to it.

> all of my options are ...

Correct.

Is this possible to connect the internet

Mostly only a SMART tv will connect to the internet. The instruction book will tell you more. The presence of an RJ45 socket should indicate possible internet capability.

Some tv top boxes will provide limited internet connectivity for older tv's for the purpose of catch-up tv and internet only tv channels.

Most tv sets can be linked to a desktop or laptop computer to provide full internet coverage on a large screen.

How do I connect my new smart TV to Netflix, it keeps telling me that ther is no internet connection

The TV Needs to be connected to an Internet Connection!
Either Wirelessly, connected to a Hotspot - most likely your WiFi from either your modem or router, depending on how you get online?
Or... Your TV can be hard wired, with a cat cable directly from your Modem/Router to the TV.
If hard wired, double check in the settings page of your TV (Navigate there with your remote) and confirm this.
If wireless, again navigate to settings and scroll to Network Connections, or something similar, (can't be specific since you didn't provide make and model) choose wireless, locate your home network name, enter your Password, and your TV should now connect to Netflix, among other platforms.
Good Luck

How do I connect to the smart tv

I assume you want to connect your smart TV to your network (e.g. to get Internet access for NetFlix).

Depending upon the precise model, it will support WiFi or wired Ethernet (or both). If your TV supports a wired connection, that will provide the best performance. All you need is a spare port on your router/switch and a straight-through network cable.

If your TV supports WiFi, you'll need to get into the its setup to enter the settings matching your home network - that is, you must choose the SSID (essentially, your WiFi network name; so your TV connects to your network and not your neighbor's) and wireless security information.

How do i connect my luxor tv to the internet wireless

As far as I know there is only one Luxor TV model that has Internet access (Smart TV) and it comes with a wireless adapter/dongle. Plug the dongle in the USB port of the TV set and follow the instructions in the user guide on how to set up a network connection. Usually, from your remote, go to Menu, Settings and then to Set Up Network Connection. Please be aware that you need to have a wireless modem/router for your home network in order to be able to connect your TV to the internet.

Hope this helps.

I have a Hitachi 42 inch smart TV and I want to know what to do if the internet menu is not loading

There are as many possibilities as there are when trying to find a needle in the haystack. The first think to look for is the WiFi is in range. How o you do the Internet on TV, cable, Wireless or... I don't know unless you spend little more time next time you write a problem on FixYa. You first need to explain whether it is cable connection to the TV, which is a bit impossible, unless your smart TV has wireless connections. Other things that you need to check is the wireless range seen on the TV (those tiny bar-graphs usually seen at the bottom right of the screen), are they all active? They're usually 5 little vertical bars. If the Wireless is fine, you can be sure you will have the Internet, no matter what. If it is not loading you have to reset the code to match the wireless signal of your ISP. Better still, your TV is really a modern one, since it is a Smart TV and it comes with a Manual you cannot fail to understand. Read it carefully under the 'Wireless Connection' section and you cannot go wrong. Panicking over nothing doesn't get you anywhere closer to a solution to your problem. Like computers, Smart TV requires an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and a Wireless Modem to start with. Do you still feel confused? Then try this link below. It may help you... http://www.knowhow.com/article.dhtml?articleReference=1246&country=uk ...or, lastly, contact Hitachi.

Can I get help with connecting my smart tv to internet as its not working for me thanks a million :)

Hi, commonly these TVs use a network cable for connecting to Internet through a router, another TVs are wireless enabled, in this case you need a WiFi router to get Internet in your smart TV. The process is similar as you connect a computer to Internet but the keyboard of your TV is the remote control, some smart TVs can work with standard wireless keyboards and mices to surf Internet as with a computer.
