Ativa Shredder. It seems to be stuck in reverse?

If it is only running in reverse the most likely cause is a faulty switch as the switch just reverses the polarity of the power to the motor. Also check that nothing is covering the proximity sensor in the throat of the shredder.

The shredder will only constantly run in the "Reverse" mode. The trigger located in the center of the feed entry slot, which activates the shredder, may be blocked. To clear it, you would need to insert an index card or file folder (i.e. rigid paper or cardstock) in the center of the feed slot and apply force.

Replaced seat switch, runs great, but cuts off when blades are engaged.

My mower will shut down when it is in reverse and you start blades. I can put in bypass with the key switch and run in reverse with blades running. What come to mind could you have a problem with the reverse/neutral safety switch which makes the mower think it is in reverse and shuts the mower down. The switch does not put in reverse just give an indication of it being in reverse. Just a thought. Thinking about it if you have a problem with pulleys or blade bearing being locked up it might drag the engine down when you engage the blades.

best guess is the switch, the reversing links might be burned, typical for a reversing switch were the operator does not wait for the motor to stop before switching in reverse

Why does my intimus 602 shredder only run in reverse

This applies if Reverse is forward, and forward is running in reverse. If someone worked on it they may have reversed the wires from the motor to the board. There are four wires from the motor, of the four one goes to MZ on the board, another one goes to MV. If you swap these two wires you will be running in the correct direction again.

Craftsman 21 hp lawntractor model 917.289240 will no go in reverse.

If this is a hydro unit and it runs ok forward there should be no other reason other than linkage adjustment for it not to run in reverse, for safety reasons they are normally adjusted to run slower in reverse

Forward shredding will not run, no jam, reverse will run.

The switch usually only reverses the polarity of the motor, making it run forward or reverse. If the motor runs one way and not the other the one side of the switch is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Miter saw motor is running back wards

I'd say it was the new wiring that was reversed. Motors cant really start reversing themselves on their own and the only other way it would seem reversed is if the blade was put on backwards...

So yes I think you have the wires reversed when you re-wired the cord.
