Power supply or main board ? RCA flat screen

Powers on remote only. no buttons functional except DVD panel. Plays DVDs fine with remote or bottons on TV. Have not been able to switch modes since DVD Inspected power supply and main board for swelled caps or hot spots on PCB found none if it was power supply issue i would think DVD would have issues as well Thanks for any ideas Dan.....

At a guess, main board. I agree if power supply board is bad, you won't get DVD working.

I have a RCA LCD TV and the power button and volume bottons don't work on the tv. Which board do I need to replace? Model number is 46LA45RQ

If these functions can be done by using its remote control, and only the front panel buttons are inactive, microswtches at the front panel board should be replaced. If functions are not available with a remote control too, the main board is faulty. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. While watching tv, chromecast, videos, DVDs the tv powers down for just a few seconds then powers up all on its own !

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Dificulty turning on, once on it is fine

Remote? batterys? Buttons worn out on remote. My solution for a similar issue was a replacement universal remote from RCA. Works far better than the factory remote. And easy to program the replacement code.

Rca tv powers up has backlight no sound or picture replaced main board and inverter

I would check the input board for correct power supply input
check the blue 15pf 6kv caps near the output from the PSU to the inverter.

Hi
The software version decides the function that coincide with remote signal. If the remotes' infrared signal frequency differ to the receiving spctrrum of the software, it won't work well. You must have the remote of the present TV itsef to work in coincide with the button actions. Just get it. There is no other way. OK.

Is sounds more like a button got stuck or you could have a main board failure since the TV is powering up normal; but it could also be a power supply not providing the proper voltages to the main board circuitry and the microprcessor does not know what to do.
