What causes my power light to blink 4 times

power will not come on Linda, could be bad capacitors or cracked/bad solder joint,bad main logic board.

that is a master control board failiure, it is caused by having your TV on all the time, when the TV gets warm, you need to shut it off and let it cool down(that caused your problem) call sony and order a replacement part, it will take you about 20-40 minutes to install yourself.

In general when you have a blink of 4 times.
It indicates the Vertical deflection is stopped.
Possible causes: +- 15V is not supplied. (D board), IC8003 is faulty. (A board)
Symptoms of the problem: TV has entered the standby state after horizontal raster, Vertical deflection pulse is stopped, Power line is shorted or power supply is stopped.

On older Sony, sometimes a power surge causes the set to be in shut down mode. Try unplugging for 5 minutes and then plug in and try. This many times will fix.

Unplug TV from the power outlet and let it sit for a few minutes, then plug it back. It sould work normally after that.
