JVC GZMG30U is frozen. Haven't used it for years and I need to get the pics off of it. I turn it on and it won't turn off. Can't focus anything, can't change from pics to video.

Is your machine mechanical? If so, sounds like the feed dogs are stuck in the lowered position. Needs good cleaning and oiling.

Check the main Power fuse inside the unit...

This is most likely a zoom or focus lens out of place and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

In super macro mode, there is a minimum focussing distance. Any closer, and you have no hope of locking in a focus. So, be sure you don't go past this point.Close up pics have a very shallow "depth of focus" meaning that very little in front or behind what you focussed on will be in focus. Is anything in focus in your pics? If you can exert some manual control over lens openings, you could try using a smaller opening to get more of your subject in focus. When taking close-ups, always use a tripod.

set it to manual focus and try it on that setting,, it may not have liked you knocking it out of ,,,,(auto focus) ????
