I need to replace electric starter with manual starter for ariens 948401-210e series cultivator

you must go to the supplier manufactue to request service manual for this procedure. However you can do this:
Remove the mower deck:
  1. Make sure that the parking brake is locked.
  2. Place scrap lumber under the front and rear of the deck.
  3. Use the deck lever to lower the deck.
  4. Remove attachments from the deck.
  5. Remove the blade drive belt from the front pulley.
  6. Remove the front and rear deck fasteners, following instructions in your owner's manual.
  7. Use the deck lever to raise the deck.
  8. Remove the scrap lumber.
  9. Remove the deck from under the mower.
Adjust the drive belt:
  1. Remove the belt from the large idler pulley.
  2. Remove the belt from the adjustable idler pulley.
  3. Carefully remove the spring-loaded large idler pulley.
  4. Loosen the adjustable idler pulley and move it slightly toward the rear of the mower to tighten it-or move it toward the front to loosen it-and retighten the pulley.
  5. Replace the belt.
  6. Check belt tension and readjust as needed.

Hi, The part numbers you nee;
341241 belt $20.38
691366 Idler pulley $15.77
I listed the idler pulley, as yours maybe froze up or hard to turn. To get to top must be lifted has two screws at filter screen and two pushin clips right and left at front. Press in and pull up. Lay backwards. Two screws at top left and right hold front in place. Remove and lift front off. You cand then get to the idler and belt. Hope this helps.

Maytag neptune dryer makes a loud squeaking noise

This noise will normally come from a defective idler pulley. Access to the idler pulley varies by model, if your dryer has a lower front panel (kick plate) start there. It should lift up and off or it may be held in place with a few screws or snaps; it may also have a catch at the edges or center gap between the kick panel and main panel. To release the catch, push a putty knife, wrapped with masking tape, into the gap and push back the catch. The next easiest access point is the rear panel. The rear access panel is held in place with several screws along the outer edges. The last resort method of access is the removal of the entire front panel. The front panel supports the front of the drum and so removal is more difficult. Front panel removal varies. In general, access is gained by lifting the top (remove the lint trap screws first), removing the screws that secure the front panel, and detaching the panel from the drum.
When reaching into the dryer be careful of sharp edges on the cabinet and interior supports. Reach in to the belt and give it tug. It should be taught and have only a little give. The belt should go under the idler pulley and over the motor pulley. Lift the idler pulley toward the motor to relieve tension on the belt and remove it from the motor pulley.
Turn the idler pulley wheel, it should turn smoothly, quietly and without any wobble. Inspect it for cracks or uneven wear. If the idler pulley does not maintain proper tension or is damaged it should be replaced. Depending upon your model, the entire assembly or just the wheel or bearing may be replaced. Check the bearings as well for excessive clearance also(roller bearings)

Hoover self propelled U6630900 idler arm lock

Remove the bottom plate (4 screws), remove belts and brush roller. There may be 1 small screw in the center front of the vac under the brush roller. remove this one. If this is a bagless model you will also need to remove all of the back screws (torx) that hold the lower hose on. This needs to be removed to take the hood off. underneath on each side of the power drive assembly you will have 1 screw, remove them. there is a clip on each side that snaps the front on, push them out with a screwdriver. Then the hood is removed.
