There is a clicking sounds coming from the vacuum only when it is pushed. Not sure what it is?

I just inherited by Dyson from my parents and completely cleaned it out and took apart what I could. I went to use the actual vacuum on the carpet and it makes a click sound every time I push it around. Is this the belt?

SOURCE: Dyson suddenly hard to push on carpet

I know this sounds silly, but it works. Turn it over and wipe all the black residue off the bottom of it (off the plastic on the bottom that rubs on the carpet as you push and pull it). I thought my husband was out of his mind when he told me that was the solution, but it really works.

SOURCE: dyson - can't push the vacuum

try to see if the carpet setting is to carpet. i know this machine says that its a life time belt, but i would check this just in case. best way to tell if it's working is to lay the machine on its belly with the brushes pointing up and turn on the machine to see if the brushes are turning. (be careful not to put your face directly in front, just in case something is lodged in the brush and flies out )

Sure, on the side of the machine you will have a knob, you can use this to tuirn the brushbar off and have suction only.

SOURCE: My Dyson will not vacuum

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties using your DC24 on this particular rug. You may find the cleaner's powerful suction causes certain lightweight rugs to seal closely with the soleplate, requiring a little more effort to push.

Reassuringly, it sounds as if your cleaner is performing correctly, but if you have any further concerns about this issue, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to provide the assistance you need.

    Kind regards,

Inherited from family member who moved away, can't see how the charging cord fits into docking station as it doesn't line up with hole on vacuum body when inserted into docking station.

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

All DC59 models were supplied with the docking station design shown below, which sounds as if it's the one you've seen in videos online:

      inherited-from-family-member-moved-away-bgnlnjysxqgtkkq3zluwq2tk-4-0.jpg

From your description, it sounds like the docking station you've inherited may belong to an older Dyson cordless vacuum, such as DC35 or DC44. If you're able to call the Dyson Customer Helpline directly, we should be able to help determine exactly which docking station you have, and whether or not it's compatible with your DC59.

When using my dyson ball the ball Is getting stuck.as I move it forward it will go a few inches then stick,if I push hard it will make a click sound &roll again but stiffly. I can't see obvious cause

There are bearings in the ball and on the vacuum that may be clogged with dust or debris. There could be a bad spot on the actual ball itself.

Why does dyson dc39 ball drag on floor which scratches hardwood and makes it difficult to push on carpet. Just started doing this after four years.

It sounds like the axle connections have gotten dirty or bound with animal hair or other material. Cleaning the axles can resolve this issue. Contact Dyson for assistance here:

      My dyson dc24

Hi there Shane, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC24's brush bar will shut off if something jams it - for example, a rug fringe or a shoelace. Once you've checked the cleaner head for any obstructions, you should be able to reset it. To do this, please follow the steps shown in the video.

It may help to push the red reset button with the eraser end of a pencil or something similar. You should feel a click as you push it in.

The brush bar will never rotate when the machine is standing upright, so please make sure you recline it into the vacuuming position before testing it.

If you do need further help after trying this, please give our experts a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

      Best wishes,

After a few minutes of use the filter in the ball comes unlatched and jams the ball

      Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25. When you replace the filter, make sure you're pushing it down firmly into place until you hear an audible 'click' -this should prevent it coming unlatched during use. However, if you've tried this and are still concerned, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly so one of our experts can recommend the best course of action. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Hi, i took apart filters to clean in my dyson dc25 and put it back together as said...and now its making a highpitch whinning sound

      Hi its Darran at Dyson.

It may be worth taking the filter in the ball out and putting it back making sure it has clicked back into place securely.
