Remove housing I'm trying to get access to the condenser as I'm receiving an E20 error code and I have been doing a lot of drying lately and I think the condenser needs cleaned, but many of the fittings of machine seem affixed to the housing on this AEG model.

Error code E20 on a AEG washer dryer

Ok if its only bring the E20 up on the drying side then this will be a blocked dryer condenser chamber.

To get at this you need to take the back half of the washer off and from there you will see a big plastic chamber going from the bottom up to the top.

Take this chamber off and give it a good clean out with a hose pipe.

Once this is clear refit it and the dryer should be back to normal from there.

I have a washer/dryer. I would like to use the dryer but after a minute or two it says E20. I don't have a manual & don't know what to do please help regards Genevieve

E20 error on drying with mine. Cleaned normal fluff filter but no fix. Found that the condenser bottle fills with fluff also and needs to be cleaned out. Underneath the washer there is a plastic catch inside the rubber boot that catches obstacles from going down the drain. Clean that up if all is cleaned the code should disappear if not you can try unplugging it for about 30 minutes or so. Hope this helped Tim

WHAT IS ERROR CODE E 20

E20 is a drain error
Get the washer laying on it's side and using the access hole on the bottom carefully remove the screw clamp holding the large hole of the rubber housing to the tub drain (it will be obvious all other clips are green compression clips).

Carefully work the strainer out of this flexible rubber drain housing through the large hole.Clean it out and replace you will be good to go. Also remove all the hoses and check for a buildup of gunk.

Error codes E20

Hi

Error code e20 means a clogged drain pump. This might have happened due to small clips, pins, coins, etc being stuck in the pump. Please note that error e20 can also occur when the drain pump is not pumping fast enough or when the pump fails. To fix the issue you'll need to check the drain pump.
Remove the 2 screws from the bottom of the front access panel, it will come off. Now check for the pump on the right side and remove hoses from it. Remove pump from machine then remove whatever is there in the pump. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Lavamat 16820

The reason the machine is coming up with E20 when drying.
is that there is a blockage of fluff in the dryer air duct on the right hand side of the machine just below the fan unit.
the air that goes through this duct is heated and returns back to the tub to dry the clothes. because there is a blockage in this duct the fan pushes air up the pressure switch tubes and fools the machine in to thinking that there is too much water in the drum,
too remove this blockage you have to disconnect the power supply, remove the lid and remove the back panel, 4 screws at the bottom + 4 up top under the lid. plull the water pipe with the valve out of the way and pull back panel away.
you should now see the dryer condensor unit blocked up with fluff. remove this unit and clean with bottle brush.
replace and make sure hoses are done up tight. replace back panel and lid, try again on drying and things should be alot better, drying should be alot quicker as well.

Error codes

I suggest you snake out the drain into which the machine waste hose goes, the standpipe that is. The drain could be blocked somewhere causing pressure problems which is conveyed to the machine. Be sure to replace the machine exit hose at about 3 feet from ground level, and dont shove it too much into the standpipe. Do not block up the point where the machine hose goes into the standpipe, it shouldn't be air tight.

if this is a fridgidaire washer, I guess it's a clogged coin catcher. You have remove the front access panel and clean it out. I am working on that now.
