Cant get ps4 to pass signal thru avr to projector.
Im trying to get the ps4 to pass the hdmi signal from the reciever to the front projector. When I switch sources, I can see the satellite on the projector no problem. when i select the DVD source, i get nothing just sound from the stereo. At first I got no picture but I had to turn off i/p scalar, then I got picture from satellite but nothing from PS4. It's using one hdmi cable out from reciever.
thanks
thanks Claude for the links. It didnt fix the issue but it lead me to look more closely at the receiver. The issue was the ARC on the HMDI port. Once I plugged the cable into the Monitor 2 without ARC, it worked.
Projectors dont have ARC, so it couldnt finish the handshake.

If your Denon AVR-888 is not passing HDMI signal from your Asus UX431F laptop to your Vizio TV, but is passing signal from your Apple TV, there may be a compatibility issue between the laptop and the receiver or between the receiver and the TV. Here are a few things you can try:
Check HDMI cables: Make sure all HDMI cables are properly connected and working. Try using different HDMI cables to see if that resolves the issue.
Update firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for the receiver and the laptop. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.
Check laptop settings: Make sure the laptop is set to output video through its HDMI port. On some laptops, you may need to manually select the HDMI output in the display settings.
Try a different input: If your receiver has multiple HDMI inputs, try plugging your laptop into a different input to see if that resolves the issue.
Contact the manufacturer: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, contact the manufacturer of the laptop, receiver, or TV for further assistance.
It's also worth noting that some older HDMI receivers may not be compatible with newer HDMI devices. If your receiver is several years old, it may not be able to pass the HDMI signal from your laptop. In that case, you may need to upgrade to a newer receiver that supports HDMI 2.0 or higher.
Depending on your TV inputs, you are better off to run video componenets through TV first then, connect TV to reciever via digital optical. Recievers have video pass through but, noyt the best route. You can use TV's menu to choose what you watch and, only have the one output from TV to reciever. Make sure you scan through TV and reciever menus to make sure you are selecting the right channel.
hello i believe your problem is that you are trying to downconvert from hdmi to component connections and Denon receivers will not do that.
I have a 4310 and I know it will UPconvert from an analog signal to HDMI but won't do it the other way around.
you may have to use component inputs for all your equipment. You will also have to go into the receivers menu and designate which signal is being used for each component as it won't auto select between analog and digital signals when it comes to video.
Hi make sure that in the projector menu it doesn't have an option to cancel "control" as many tv's with hdmi have the capability to receive command signals through the hdmi cable.
Also make sure that your receiver is set for hdmi signal you must designate which input you are using on the receiver and then tell it what type of signal you want it to use.
you may have just pushed a button that changed these settings somewhere along the way.
with component, if there is not a solid signal, it'll go blue. if the dvd is dirty, the player is dirty, or any other break in signal, it'll go blue. clean your dvd and/or player.
it sounds like the A/V reciever does not upconvert the component signal to HDMI. Not many do. The Marantz recievers will (SR6001, SR8001, etc..). Also bear in mind that HDMI cables are finicky and may require amplification over a few meters long.
