You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You don’t have to bend up the electrode. HTH

SOURCE: homelite ut10560 chainsaw good compression, good

check your fuel lines for cracks carb screen (if it has one) or jets might be clogged , also, I have a husk 350, fired only with gas in the carb, would not run at all just start and off. would not fire at all without doing that. the head bolts were little lose. I tightened them down put it back together, and that was the problem.

HOMELITE 27AV CHAINSAW WILL NOT START. CLEANED CARB, PLUG GETS GOOD SPARK. TRIED EVERYTHING.

Hi chuckbjr44,
Have you checked the compression ?The way to do that is take the plug out and ground the plug wire by tying it out of the way so that it touches on some metal .Use a compression gauge while a friend pulls the rope.It sounds like rings to me. Thank you for using Fix Ya. ps you can a local repair shop for the specs on the right compression for your saw.

No spark on homelite 330 chainsaw. wire on on\off switch broke. thought to be ground wire. attached to block, still no spark switch in either direction.

The switch grounds the coil and kills the spark. Make sure you dont have a rub through on the wire coming from the coil. Better yet disconnect the coil wire. If this works you will have spark but wont be able to shut it down. Verify good spark, then repair the wire.

Hope this helps, Matt

I have a XL12 UT 10445A and I need to find out the specs and also it is not gettting any spark

I do not have any specs on it, but parts are available.
The saw can have either points/condensor and/or electronic ignition

No-start
Basics to check:
1) Spark plug - brown or dark brown - OK
a) is it carbon or fuel fouled (black and carbon deposits)
b) is there spark

2) Muffler remove for inspection
a) exhaust screen clean or plugged
b) inspect cylinder wall/piston as the flywheel is slowly rotated
3) Check cylinder compression

How to test a magneto on a homelite chainsaw

pull the plug boot off. stick in a screw drive and ground out next to the head or bolt (hole out about 1/4 in). pull the cored to see if you have spark. ( pull the plug out, it'll help to pull the cord). now if you have no spark. find the coil and remove the black ground wire, and check again. if you have spark, than the switch or wiring is bad, if not, the magnetron is bad . good luck

Homelite Model UT10901A will not Start

Check the on/off or kill switch. It grounds out the ignition system so that you have no spark. Probably have a loose wire and it's shorting out to ground and making the ignition system not work.
