Anyone now the fault light codes for this model---thank you

Code doesn't sound familiar. . I know a CA00 but numerous faults can cause this code from dirty laser slit glass, depleted dev, worn drums, paper stuck round the transfer unit etc.

Based on that, anyone who tells you they know what the problem is would just be 100% guessing.

2. The mechanics scan tool may not have picked up a code but that does not mean there is no fault code generated ready to be pulled up with the correct equipment. There are also some manufacturer specific codes for various models that many generic scan tools will not necessarily read.

3. I would take it to a dealer service center and have the fault code or codes pulled up and diagnosed as there will be something if the warning light is back on. Whatever fault codes are being generated, their equipment will pick it up.

Sounds as if it is in emergency service mode , if you can obtain or borrow an OBDC II reader ( I thinks it's OBD2 for that model ) it will show you the scan of the engine management diagnostics and give you fault codes corresponding to the faults in your car ( Know as DT's ) look on the Mercedes forums and they will tell you what fault codes mean .

7 flashes could be speed or throttle, i recommend replacing both.

I would GOOGLE the model number to see if manual or error codes are available or search for the NEC site to see what information they have for you.

these codes are on the inside panel of the front cover of the furnace. lift off and look inside.there should be a code explain chart on the panel by the light. this panel will need to be replace correctly for the furnace to work as there is a door switch.

1986+ models: ASD relay open or shorted

Code 12 The battery has been disconnected and the computer (ECU) has been reset.

these are only the 2 digit codes, but they have links to obd II codes as well (to anyone looking)

Take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for stored fault codes. The light is to alert you that the computer has noted a fault in one of the car's systems. Most parts stores will do the scan for free and getting the codes will show what faults the computer identified, so you can take appropriate action. Hope this helped and best wishes.
